Translation and interpretation of the ancient manuscripts of the Bible. The goal here is not to promulgate any specific religious dogma. Instead I would like just to share may love and enthusiasm for this ancient literature.

Thanks for the vid! It’s good to finally hear from a scholar and not some crazy lunatic spouting wild “biblical” claims. You keep it very professional and it seems like you plan out your videos and put a lot of thought and effort! Instead of rambling or going over the same point again and again! I really appreciate all the hard work and knowledge you have! I have been interested in early Middle Eastern religion for some time now. I like your point about how the Bible isn’t talking about the 21st century but it is for us. It seems that many Christian’s especially those who read revelation feels like it’s talking about us now. I think this comes from the idea that we are at the end of history which is a wild take. So I do appreciate you hammering this down! I may still be hung up on evolution and Christianity. But I think that both of these views aren’t so black and white as I had hoped. Thanks again! I’ll be listening to more videos!
Interesting perspective and translation. I’ve heard someone mention something similar before. It’s nice to hear new theories on what scripture means to different people. It truly is a living word that will reflect back to an individual how they see reality.
Lots. In most instances we have an a ancient Hebrew manuscript. And there is the tradition of it being a translation from antiquity. And the most telling is that in a lot of versions of the LXX it is translated literally, so it is full of features of the Hebrew grammar it was translated from.
I wish I had access to lot of what they have in there secret collection. Fortunately their biblical manuscripts have all been digitized and are available online.
I can't believe your videos haven't gone viral yet. Please never stop doing these videos, i can't even begin to explain how much they mean to me and I'm convinced that your videos will be just as valuable to thousands yet to discover your channel. Lots of love from south Africa
Should one be capable of seeing big picture ... They would see and understand that all the world's belief systems and religions come from the same source. The light that came into being on its own accord; and we are created in its image.
Exegesis of poetry is impossible. It speaks to the emotions and utilises poetic licence (note 'poetic...') Elohim is themself guilty of the same shortcomings concerning their followers which the celestials are being accused of. Either God is a hypocrite, or poetry is poetry - you choose..
I'm going to have to learn to stop reading comments from other users in your videos (and others'). You're a more patient man than l... I guess you just get used to people that have absolutely no idea what they're talking about making statements as if they were absolute fact. Good bless you 😂
Taking into cultural beliefs into account, its not necessarily true that they believed there was only one god, but rather there was only one god worth worshipping or there is only one god appropriate to worship. If we are going with what recent scholars are saying, Elohim mentioned within this scripture was the head of the pantheon, Yahweh was a lesser storm god. So this verse would be discussing a council amongst this pantheon where God Elohim is basically telling the rest of the pantheon they're toast. If this is post exile than the author is either still holding onto heretical teachings that Josiah threw out, or the transition from the old religion is recent enough that it can be used as metaphor for people to understand. Alternatively it could be that this is a theory proposed as to why the consolidation of the hebrew religion takes place because Elohim god removed all the other God's so Josiah needed to consolidate the religion and throw out the other dieties. Alternatively this could be reference to book of Enoch (i havent read or know to much about it, just general concepts its supposed to teach) where its supposedly teaches that Angels/fallen angels come to earth and start ruling nations. They started doing abominations, teaching technology they werent ready for and possibly genetic modification (hence could be called gods) which is why god flooded the world (and imo a valid explanation on why god needed to drown kids too. If they messed with genetics it could adversely affect the rest of humanity so God was forced to remove the corrupted DNA.) An other alternative the LDS church teaches that all humans are, spiritually at least, children of God. They made a plan to live on earth, and die on earth. This could be explained that this is referencing the council of heaven before the earth and everyone is assigned a time and place on earth to live. We will be beset by sin and die, so we need to put faith in Jesus for redemption.
@theoria-agent At mark 17min, i think ur comparison is not correct. Deu 22:4 does accurately depict that donkey or ox WERE common modes of transportation, this was TRUE, it wasn't just figurative, and even today they still are true, even if not that common. but that verse doesn't prescribe that they SHOULD be, just that they were. therefore if Earth was a disk w a dome back then it was TRUE then, and since we haven't changed the shape of the earth, like we did our transportation, it is still TRUE.
For starting out no. That said, the Scofield Reference Bible is an interesting piece of history, I have an old edition of it myself. Scofield was one of the main proponents of Dispensationalism, so all the notes and comments will be through that theological lens. Although there is a lot in it you may find helpful. Its biggest drawback is its age, a lot of scholarship and archeology has been done since it was made. And it is KJV, which is an amazing translation, but not only does it use a lot of language that is archaic to the modern reader, the translators didn’t even have access to most of the biblical manuscripts (the Dead Sea Scrolls weren’t even discovered yet). If you are just getting started with reading the Bible for yourself, I recommend starting with a dynamic equivalent translation (e.g., NLT, NIV, CEV) and reading whole books of the Bible at a time. For understanding the context of each book there are lot of great modern study Bibles, or you can checkout The Bible Project they have fun short videos that give a synopsis and context for each book of the Bible. www.youtube.com/@bibleproject
From the metaphorical perspective, the "donkey" is the Old Testament interpretations, and the "ox" is Apostolic interpretations and teachings. In other words, if you see believers [and non-believers], especially those who have lost the true definitions of the OT and Apostolic Gospel knowledge, without hesitation, go and return these Divine truths to them.
If it was obvious that the Earth is rotating ball then no one would question that, yet the science is unable to deliver one clear evidence that heliocentric model is true. The more people look into this model the more problems we see, no answers but problems. At the same time the “scientific anger” bursts out of those who claim to know the truth. The claim that the ancient civilization didn’t know how to measure long distances is nonsense because there are hundreds of pyramids and temples aligned to the same direction as if someone placed. These structures on invisible string stretching thousands of miles. We are unable to erect the structures as ancients did and the jewelry and its precision dated to 3000 BC is no different than current days jewelry. Coming back to the Divine Consul, just read Paul’s letters. He explained that there are rulers, thrones, principalities etc in spiritual realm. The meaning of verses from Psalms and Deuteronomy are confirmed by Paul and also by Daniel who told as about the Prince of Persia and the Prince of Greece.
You had me until you tried to subtlety pass off being gay and safe in time of a medical pandemic as signs of corruption and moral decay. Reminding me again that Christianity is objectively evil.
I enjoy your content. I must say that going from "in" to "by means of" to "by" seems like an inappropriate choice. I think Paul means "in" and there are several ways to think of this. In this context I think it means in the name of Christ or under his covenantal rule we have been created, but also in the very person of Jesus himself we were created. Just earlier it was said we were made alive with Christ and raised up with him. Jesus resurrection was a rebirth or recreation event and arguably the beginning of the new creation. So since we are united with Christ, because he was raised up so are we, because he was reborn so are we, and because he was recreated so are we. That's why it says if anyone is in Christ he is a new creation. This is why Colossians says what it does: Colossians 3:3-4 *_For you have died, and your life is hidden with Christ in God. When Christ who is your life appears, then you also will appear with him in glory._* The new creation life that we will ultimately become has already been recreated in the resurrected person of Jesus, whom we have been raised with, and when Jesus, whose resurrection life is our life, appears we will participate fully in his life and glory.
There are stories about one of Jupiter’s moons being pulled out of orbit and hitting the original earth. It’s from this even that the earth is referred to as having an edge. Half the planet broke off, and the firmament which means the strong foundation below is what became our earth. Eventually the two side met again, this point is the massive crack at the bottom of Atlantic Ocean that runs the entirety of it. This why only side of our planet has continents and how the ancients knew the asteroid belt between mars and Jupiter had gold in them. The predynastic Egyptians recorded in their hymns to their gods(the planets). They worshipped it right up until it destroyed the first creation, eventually leading to the Bible’s second creation.
Experience is said to be the best teacher. Genuine experience is indeed superior to mere theoretical knowledge, but many have an erroneous idea as to what constitutes experience. Real experience is gained by a variety of careful experiments, made with the mind free from prejudice, uncontrolled by previously established opinions and habits. The results are marked with careful solicitude, and an anxious desire to learn, to improve, and to reform on every point that is not in harmony with physical and moral laws. That which many term experience is not experience at all; it has resulted from mere habit, or from a course of indulgence, thoughtlessly and often ignorantly followed. There has not been a fair trial by actual experiment and thorough investigation, with a knowledge of the principles involved in the action. Experience which is opposed to natural law,-which is in conflict with the unchangeable principles of nature,-is not to be relied upon. Superstition arising from a diseased imagination is often arrayed in opposition to reason and to scientific principles. To many a person, the idea that others may gainsay what he has learned by experience, seems folly, and even cruelty itself. But there are more errors received and held through false ideas of experience than from any other cause. There are many invalids today who will ever remain such because they cannot be convinced that their experience is not to be relied upon. CTBH 109.1 - CTBH 109.2
