Mainstream Renewable Power have not properly addressed the concerns of the majority of people in Ireland living beside their proposed Mega windfarms. The use of the word NIMBY's by Eddie is insulting to people who have issues with noise pollution. Mr O'Connor should be made live in a caravan/house within a half mile of one of the monstrous turbines he promotes for a period of time. Turbines ,the size he proposes, would be better off at sea in the future. What's the rush? Is it solely for economic reasons or to benefit the environment and Irish communities also. Community owned/funded wind turbines are a solution that have not been researched properly by the Irish government as part of a solution mix, to help maximise a sustainable economy locally and nationally. There are numerous renewable energy solutions that should benefit the Irish people and not solely multi national corporations. Ireland in the future will be an exporter of renewable energy. As shareholders in this country and her sustainable energies the people of Ireland Inc. must voice concern at the current development model which exports electricity and revenues generated from same.
