Every summer since 1947 Llangollen has staged one of the world's most inspirational cultural festivals. Each year over 4,000 performers from across the globe head to the beautiful little Welsh town to take part in a unique event combining competition, performance, and international peace and friendship. Around 25 different competitions celebrate song, music and dance, climaxing with the prestigious 'Choir of the World' where winning choirs compete for the Pavarotti Trophy.
What a fabulous day we had! THank you Gareth Hall for your organisation and Llangollen Internationals Music Eisteddfod for hosting us. It was well worth the trip from right down South!
i miss the excitement of being there! Working there from 1991 to 2003 I've experienced the world coming to North Wales! there's nothing more that anyone could ask for!
we want the world to know that Afghan specially people in the Afghanistan soil , I say this because Pakistan has same people in their country, but they are not Afghanz , we hate our coward neighborhood Pakistan, they create terrorist groups to stay on top , so all these Taliabn and killers of west and east Afghans Americans are planned in Pakistan, they feed and provide shelter to these. killer machine .
It’s a shame Mr Drakeford didn’t use this message to say thank you to the hundreds of volunteers who work throughout the year to produce this spectacular festival.
One of the best music and voice collaborations I have ever had the privilege to listen to . Thank you Catrin Finch and guests "One world, One Life,One song, One breath and we belong. We all need this. Diolch xx
Da iawn Pawb! Congratulations everybody, such at meaningful expression of what Home it to everyone and Home is in Llangollen every second week of July!
So much if you grew up round there. I don't remember my first visit when I was three. But I remember Pavarotti making his international debut there when I was eleven. He came back 40 years later in memory of the event. It gave me such an insight into the small world that uses music as its common language. A highlight of every summer for more years than I can remember.
“Bring it together under the sun Bring it together and together as one We’ll find peace, we’ll find peace” This song is about peace @Callum Davies, please refrain from using unnecessary verbal abuse towards @Jrobdoesgames #stopbullying
Wonderful to have a flavour of the Eisteddfod online but can't wait to come and enjoy the real thing next year hopefully. Such a fantastic mix of incredibly high level performances and cultural diversity must return.
Missing the eisteddfod so much this year always a highlight of the year. Such a warm friendly, happy, atmosphere. Looking forward to next year singing and dancing along with everyone else. 🏴🤩😊🤗
