Re-watching (3rd Squeeze Play video tonight). I wanted to see the orientation inside the door and this video showed it. I have a steel door at the Fire Hall I can practice on before I work on the door that I need to fix.
contractors who leave a mess don't get called back a 2nd time. It's called courtesy and professionalism. Just build the extra time to do so in your time to do the job. But of course you already know this, you are a professional in all your videos! I wonder how big of a bong rip fredsanford336 took before posting that comment.
I prefer to offer a commercial cleaning service that with eat the entire profit from the job I did. You must always leave it cleaner than when you arrived.
I always clean up after the job. Of course, I try to make it as quick as possible, so drop cloth where I can. In my experience, people notice and appreciate that kind of attention and consideration.
He's right. Jason will learn after he's been in the business for a couple of years. I hope this guy explains how to use a file next! Jason will LOVE that! 😁😆😂🤣😅
I always felt really good of myself when I made a perfect key from scratch. It was most rewarding to realize that there weren’t many people who could do this. Good job Jason. Thank you for keeping this craft alive. 👍🏻👍🏻🇺🇸
Great video, thanks. Those levers are hard to figure out up and down. Question - put a Schlage locking lever handle on, customer bought it at a big box store. Out of the box the key slot was sideways - not up and down. Can you rotate this 90 degrees to the left so the key inserts like most people put their key in -teeth up?
I've found the shackles on Dollar Store cheapo combination locks can be hard to shim because they often have good tolerances. Probably because the cheap metal lends itself to easy manufacture.
I like the Lock Monkey ones. They are cheap so I don’t mind using them up. I have taken those thin strips from the anti-theft devices. I just use scissors instead of a knife. They are too thin for me to shim a lock, but I find many other uses for them.
Great video Jason, I’m amazed you were able to do over 15 minutes on shimming but it was all good 😊 I tried the security tags but found them too thin to work with easily. So instead I just keep the regular curved ones in an old chapstick container. Thanks for sharing this info 🙏
Just tap the body of the security tag or use a magnet to pull them to the opposite end and cut the very end off the white or black case. Then use a magnet to pull them out, usually 2 good one's, one is glued in, total 3. Most of mine have a slight lengthwise curve to them. I've never bought real ones. have a great day, also you shouldn't hit a spring with the shim unless somebody pinned it very badly. Great info and video !!!!!
@@geraldskinner63 typically lab as I’ll just randomly add it to pin orders but I do like the thin ones from CLK, someone sent me their prize pack otherwise I would have never tried them
beaware these keys ways and any other lock & key from over seas junk parade can cause cancer please wash hands asap and avoid handling when possible, sell new key to knob cheers T 2024
I’m a locksmith and physical security specialist. I love locksport. 🤷♂️ my old boss (a master locksmith) didn’t like locksport either. I get both sides. I’m a part of both communities so I shrug.
I haven’t finished the video and now I’m a little relieved of my stress (for having to repair mine) by watching this “easily amused”. I’m upvoting this! 😂
Since it's been 3 years since this video I figured I'd ask if there's anything that's come out since then that would allow for a Kwikset keyway with one of these stubby cylinders?
