Hey James, there’s no doubt across Geelong there has and will continue to be people that need to sell, and are taking big loses just to get out. There’s a lot of resentment from people struggling to keep there homes and those that can’t for the commentary just a little while ago that the RBA wont raise rates for years, and now look at us.

I guess this will eventually end. 3 bed room house in bell park rents for $450 this is very affordable. It a shame that the new hospital promised not going ahead.

Please don’t encourage people to move here, we don’t want to be invaded, we love our city, we would love it more if prices on everything and l mean everything were cheaper, we do pay for the life style on every level🤷♀️
That's a super interesting take on it Sharon. I guess I see it differently, we all moved here from somewhere right? And everything we have here is a result of those people that came before us. I think growth is inevitable, unless everyone stops having children of course, which seems unlikely. Without growth how do we replace the lost jobs due to the hands of closures at places like ALCOA, Ford, Holden etc. For me I think the better thing to focus on is how do we ensure we continue to build a prosperous city that we can be proud of. Those things that you mention you love about Geelong for example, How can we make the most of those, continue to improve them or at the very least maintain them. Keen to hear any thoughts you have on what you'd like to see Geelong focus on in the future. Is it sustainability? infrastructure? environmental, political, employment?
