Welcome to my RU-vid Channel. I create videos about Microsoft Flight Simulator 2020, DCS World, X-Plane and Prepar3d, predominantly tutorials and reviews (both short format and in depth).

I realize that you had published this video over 6 years ago, but it still very pertinent today. I am very in tune with your method of teaching which makes learning easy and enjoyable. I am a novice pilot learning to fly. Thank you for your thorough explanations of the G1000 which I intend to use to its fullest in X-Plane 12 flying the same Cessna N172SP plane as in your examples. Most appreciative subscribed viewer here!
The weird texture on the wall at the back of the cabin is supposed to be a mirror. But I think it would have been better as a wall seeing as MSFS doesn't do mirrors.
Not sure about UK rules, but in the U.S. the regulations are written such that you can begin the missed approach at the DA with allowances for descending below the DA in the transition to the miss. It is literally a "decision altitude", but your momentum will carry you below since you are in a descent. THe MDA is a limit, however. Your video straightened a couple of things out for me on the G1000. Thanks.
I think where we are headed to is failures that are inbuilt and under the hood. Its somehow weird having to set your own failures and therefore anticipating them as they come. Even weirder still scheduling them, in which case you will know when they will activate. A genuine failure system should be one that depends on usage and is activated depending on the abuse an airplane receives after being flown or the engine started. Developers should look into working on that and then giving the user the ability to forensically analyse them as they occur and effect repairs. That would be more engaging than what we have now, I think.
While I think it's a generally OK visual model, I ended up getting a refund as a result of flight dynamic issues that I found to be so far off that it wasn't enjoyable at all to fly. Primarily, there's still an unresolved rudder input problem that causes an opposite direction rudder roll. Also, a continued aileron roll after neutralizing the stick. I'm not a DC/SC Designs hater at all, as I own their F-16 and F-15 and have been generally happy with both of those models. However, in my opinion, this F-5 needs a complete rework of it's flight dynamics before I'd recommend anyone buy it. PS: Although it's been many years, I flew T-38s as a student in USAF UPT. The F-5 should have very similar flight characteristics to the T-38. This model is way off.
I just found your RU-vid channel today. I thought your story was inspiring. A childhood friend of mine was lost due to a brain tumor, we both were 5 years old.
Damn, you're back! When you stopped posting videos a couple of years back I thought your health problem had finally, and unfortunately, caught up with you. So glad to see my presumption is wrong and you're still with us. Just resubbed.
Thanks for the review. I always valued your reviews way back in the fsx days. Would like to see your thoughts on xp12- cows are releasing a this for xp with a custom nxi
Thanks for the kind words. I am aiming to be much more productive over the coming months as there are a lot of new toys with MSFS and X-Plane 12. I suspect in XP12, the flight dynamics will feel more 'alive' but you never know.
Great review! Thanks for doing this, you’ve got a new subscriber, sir. Question, I’ve had my fun with the analog Bonanza and Baron, and am looking for something more complex. I’m kind of torn between this lovely bird and the analog King Air.. Would you recommend one over the other, or maybe this first, then to graduate to the King Air?
Hello Sir. Am watching your video with much interest as I am not a pilot (my background is ATC) but am an avid flight sim enthusiast. Wonder if you might consider making another similar video, maybe from Welshpool, or somewhere with some terrain to consider, but the video to be based on EFATO procedures when planning to fly VFR at night in a single ? Glad to have you back making videos again - missed your content.
Thank you for the kind words, they are much appreciated. Regarding EFATO at night in a single piston, your options are really, really limited and I have always found that all the training was always during daylight. During a take off, if the engine fails, they always say not to turn back to the field but at night it may be your only option, particularly in a hilly valley. I must admit, as a pilot, it's not something I would have relished.
Hi wonder if you could help. How can I get UK airspace to appear on the G1000 MFD, not the upper and lower airspace but just the general airspace as seen in the UK. Cheers
And also, I am up in years and sometimes voices are hard to discern. Your, British Accent, I presume, is VERY EASY to hear and probably the most clearest English to understand.
I wrote in my MANY notes, "BEST G1000 Training flight COMPLETE". Most of the items I needed better understanding of you hit on. I personally IRL do not fly with a G1000 but WHEN I DO, I want to ACE IT! Thanks so much.
