I have my cert 4 and diploma and currently studying bachelor's of construction management but I don't know it's just so hard to get a job and actually work with a builder. (:
All this is a joke I’m a carpenter who has been for 20 years done my apprenticeship with a custom home builder and ran a carpentry company and if I don’t fit into your neat box you will not give me a ticket , no wonder there is a shortage, this countries licensing system is an absolute joke
I hear ya mate same been a chippy for 24 years , work with another builder day in day out run my own business I have cert 3 & Cert 4 just haven't had the time to take the next step to get my registration , so frustrating
Hi Andrew, we don't issue tickets at TIV, you would need to speak with the VBA about what licenses you are after. Given your experience you can also check what recognition of prior learning you may have before looking at extra training/license's. Hope this helps. TIV
Nope. Victoria realises most people aren't going to start an apprenticeship because employers don't pay well. So they're offering an alternative to encourage industry job growth and bypass that initial negative. Sydney, or NSW as usual, is behind in labour wise schemes. We always have been. 🙄
Hello, my name is Ezzedine, I live in Morocco. I have been working in this field for about 10 years. I love my profession. Unfortunately, working here does not make enough money to live a decent life. I hope to find someone to help me find a job in your beloved country. Thank you
Yes first you have to give ielts then get 6 band then apply for this course It cost around 20000 Australia dollars then study for 2 year then u can do full time job there do before your age 45
Do you need a year 11 pass to go for certificate iv in building and construction? Because I wanted to drop out of school after year 10 and go to tafe and get my certificate iv in building and construction
You should do ‘Cert III in Carpentry’ first which is a 3 year course at TAFE. ‘Cert IV in Building’ is for already qualified carpenters looking to become builders. The Cert IV qualification by itself is useless unless you have a qualification in carpentry first and years of onsite experience actually building houses, you’ll be struggling to understand the basics of building otherwise.
@@johnhammm252 So getting cert III in carpentry is a mandatory thing to be able to get cert 4 in building and construction? Can you do cert III in carpentry with a year 10 pass?
@@ye4702 no, Cert III is not mandatory but it all depends on if you actually want to be a licensed builder and build houses one day. Because completing just the Cert IV in building doesn’t give you a builders licence, you need other qualifications to go along with it and years of experience working for a licensed builder. You can do the Cert IV qualification but if you aren’t actively working in construction for a licensed builder and planning on doing either ‘Cert III in Carpentry’ or the ‘Diploma in Building and Construction’ qualifications as well then it isn’t a very useful qualification to have. Yes you can do Cert III Carpentry with a year 10 pass.
@@johnhammm252 So if I get my cert 4 in building and construction ( 1year ) and diploma of building and construction ( 2 years) that’s 3 years of experience and so then I can for for my builders license, white card and stuff like that?
I haven't worked in 8 years. I need to learn to be a brick layer. I live in Deltona, Florida USA. Will someone please teach me? Danielcaron1972@gmail.com
