Thank you! Quick question, I am trying to figure out if the following setup will work. We support an Orphanage in South Africa. Recently they have had a rash of break-ins and were asking about setting up security cameras. It is a large area and hard-wiring them would be almost impossible. They currently get their WiFi from a Rain , "The 101" 5G router . I was going to buy a couple of these AC mesh . One of them I would connect to the Network port of the 101, mount it on a pole and point it toward the main buildings. Then I would mount several Eufy WiFi S340 cameras (2.4 GHz0 in strategic locations. I would install the other Unifi AC mesh at the main building, run a cable down into a router for them to get WiFi. Question: Would the S340's (2.4 GHz) be able to use the signal being pumped out by the AP or does it have to go through the receiving AP?
Hey Andrew that's a good setup and all you need to do is connect the cameras to the wifi signal that you setup on the unifi access points. They distribute 2.4ghz and 5ghz however the camera will see the 2.4ghz and connect to it and you should be good.
@@olexiefennell Awesome, thank you! I was wondering if it pumped out dual band. Some of the cameras will be kind of high up and I was hoping they would be receiving the signal being pumped out by the AC Mesh that would be connected to the Rain router / modem and not the Wifi router on the other end, as it might be out of range for some of the cameras.
hi i am planning toget the unifi dream machine and am planning to connect downstream from my isp router which will give out an IP 192.168.1.x/24 . will the UDM give out automatically a different set of IP range lets say 192.168.0.x/24 to the ethernet port ??
No 192.168.1.1 is the default IP address for the dream machine so you will have to change the IP address of your ISP router or login and change the ip address of the dream from the default to anything else.
Do you need a cloud key or any other ubiquiti product to use these AP’s? Ex. If I set it up with the mobile app or on PC can I then run it off of my netgear switch without needing anything else?
Tenho um unifi UAP-AC-M e pretendo comprar mais um e configurar o Mesh, vou precisar comprar algum outro equipamento para gerenciar o Mash ou só preciso comprar outro UAP-AC-M?
Thank you for posting this video. It's a perfect step-by-step for setting up the Mesh AC as a standalone AP, without needing any other devices in the Ubiquiti family (or even an account).
Can anyone help out w troubleshooting? ⬇️ I’ve owned one for a couple years now and only now has this issue occurred: Both moderms have all lights synced up and wifi shows on my phone/laptop but no internet connection? I’ve tried using a diff Ethernet cable connecting to router, reset the wifi extender, plugged in and out but I can’t seem to get wifi? I’ve restarted the router of my wifi but there’s been no difference. Any help will do!
Do you know why the SSID of the TP link isn't showing up? I've paired both devices, paired the one in my room to the wifi and it's just not showing the TP link SSID
I have a question...my type C port broke. That little piece inside the type c port chipped off. I was wondering if there's another way to charge it, for example, does the usb port charge it?
