It's on my shopping list and is a combo for me, Sandvik and an aluminum, in some good colorways. Not upset that it's an Altus blade on an Elementum handle, that's just smart trial-and-error for design and sales appeal
Awesome carry I got the 12c27 and black "lunar" g10 but am biased towards Voxnaes since he probably counts as my fvorite designer. Don't let me forget to get a IV at some point
The geo knife is on eBay they might be getting rid of the remaining stock they have still just $20. I really haven’t been interested in “clones” I say it with quotations because some people consider Ganzo knives clones but I don’t since they tweak and add to their designs and put their name on it.
Kubey! I won't be buying a Coeus since I recently got a Max Tkachuk Dandy for a like 10th Kubey but won't be shocked that you say it's good fit n finish, good action and good overall buck-bang. I don't remember any of em needing sharpened outta box. The one I got before that was the frag ultem version of the Thalia, ooh ma MA
I appreciate Ganzo Firebird although wishing they'd step up to as a brand that names their models and doesn't directly clone. I do own a fine-ass Adimanti Skimen Neformat, wish they'd put more out in the Adimanti line
@@flannigan7956 yeah I agree I think they have reached a point where they don’t need to take inspiration from other companies and release their own designs. There build quality is great for the price hopefully they will release more like the Adimanti and with better steels 👍🏼
I had to get the black and green Canary too, super snap. Tell ya what an excellent smedium size carry, Vosteed Acorn. Squid XM in the non-spring-assist is also outstanding as hell but I'm generally biased towards most mini/smedium goods heh heh
Yeah the canary is great really a home run from Qsp. I really like the looks of the acorn and heard really good reviews of it. Thanks for the recommendations 👍🏼
I'm coming late to the game on this one. now they are 16 and 20 dollars but if it's heat treated well then it's still a seal. Have you used it much yet? How is the edge holding up?
It’s held an edge well I’ve put it in my rotation and cut a significant amount of card board at work and it’s still sharp enough to slice through paper. I haven’t needed to sharpen it yet but I haven’t had it that long only about 2 weeks but so far I’ve been impressed with it seems like it was made for hard use.
Not sure if you asking about my index finger but yes I’m missing a bit of my index from an accident I had when I was younger nothing knife related tho 😅
IMO people overlook Gerber because they've put out a lot of poor quality knives, especially compared to companies like SanRenMu and Ganzo that compete in the same price categories, the last ten years or so. That's not to say Gerber hasn't had a few hits, they have. But their hits have been (relatively) expensive and their misses have been plentiful. Edit: The Zilch is running on nylon washers, not bronze washers. As for 7cr17mov, its basically 440A. Its a decent enough budget steel for most uses, especially if you can sharpen.
Totally agree 👍🏼 and yes I actually did a video short correcting my mistake about the washers and just another corner cut in my opinion by gerber with not putting bronze washers. I actually swapped one nylon washer for a bronze one and the action is night and day. Hopefully gerber will step it up but the zilch is still a step in the right direction in my opinion 👍🏼
Great upload. I can't tell from the images if it is raised or etched. If it looks "painted" or is raised, you can buff it off by hand or with a dremel type tool and a very fine grit polish like Flitz . Acetone might work as well. Because it's on the flat you just buff the whole section for a uniform look. At this price point I'm just going to buy one and figure out which method is applicable. 👍
Yo miso los cambié de color en proceso de calentar los tornillos con una flama por unos 10-15 segundos y sumergirlos en aceite. Les da un color bronze hay videos que explican en más detalles cómo hacerlo es muy fácil 👍🏼
