You can't use slings on most modern vehicles as there's too much plastic and other stuff that could easily be damaged. Although I recently acquired a Century 612 wrecker that does have a sling.
Instead of removing that 1 and 1/16'' end and using the bailing wire, was it not possible for you to re-center the shuttle from the top warning light port - where you have your bleeder tool screwed in? Just curious.

I wouldnt ride with those self centred wankers again, they left you on yer own, they didnt care, they pissed off and left ya....... all the same you if you come off, you would be in a ditch all on yer own..... not good.
