This remains one of my most favourite songs. And I am not religious. It is the spiritual experience of the Lost Chord that touches me! And I love this woman's beautiful voice and the passion with which she is singing this wonderful song!
What wonderful accordion playing! It sounds just like a real orchestra! Seriously though, could you please mention who is playing? It is the Symphony Orchestra of La Mnnaie/ De Munt, who are based in Brussels, Belgium. How do I know? I was playing, and there was not an accordion in sight, though we had some wonderfulaccordion playing in "Wintermärchen", a wonderful opera by Philippe Boesmans, based on Shakespeare's "A Winters Tale".
Michael Spyres fantastic voice is right up there with Pavarotti, but on top of that he plays the part he sings superbly. The facial expressions are great 😊
He has a wonderful voice and sings this very nicely. But for me it lacks emotional warmth, colour, passion, excitement and energy. Jonas Kaufmann's interpretation is far superior.
