I remember her singing this song at The International Festival of Musical Theatre in Cardiff in 2001! She was incredible even back then. She didn’t win but was in the final round and I knew there was a star in making. I think I still have it on a cassette as I recorded it from BBC Radio 2…🎉
again another poor choice for this youngster to sing, this song in its own way is just as much of a roller coaster ride both vocally and acting wise as "The Man that Got Away" , this is very far outside his comfort zone, and he sounds like he is struggling on many levels. I would enjoy if in stead of "Being Alive" he tried his hand at "No More" from "Into the Woods". He has so much to offer, and maybe one day when his gifts are better developed he can handle this wallop of a song as well as TMTGA, and I do believe he should flex his acting and vocal muscles to grow, but not so far outside his comfort zone that he drowns at times. And yes he will probably be pretty good eye candy at 70 when he gets there.
@@rebekahmoir6884 Andrew is in his adult prime, and should enjoy every moment of it. I learned when watching an interview he talk about the song "love thy neighbor" (which I think he is amazing and brilliant in, also it show how Hollywood can still do top notch MGM style musicals for the masses if they choose to) and he talks about being in his early 40s, which I did not know when i saw this video, but Andrew's face will probably always be a very cute "Babyface" (it's an old song about someone's face being cute no matter how old they are).
@@connieconconnor I agree that is the way his voice is but there are songs that he can be brilliant in, I recently watched him do "Love Thy Neighbor" and he blew me out of the water. Sometimes it is the talent, sometimes it is the material, and sometimes a little of both.
