To entertain is more important than to fool, and you entertained spectacularly! Well done! Then when you knocked down the display and it was just the boxes, I was looking for Kenshin and couldn't find him! I thought he MIGHT be in that stack of two boxes on the left, but you fooled me again! Wonderful! Thank you!
We obviously saw it, but if someone else came out and you remove everything and no one is there... that would be hilarious especially if they already made a decision.
Pair of magicians. One is silent, one is charismatic. A focus on comedy. Lets the audience see the inside of the trick. Of course Penn and Teller fans are going to love you.
Don't be disappointed, you two have maybe 5-8 years experience as semi-pro magicians together. Teller alone had that much experience even before Penn Jillette STARTED ... BOTH have actively sought out the ones who make and perform out of the normal and both have now studied and performed total about 130 years. (their combined ages is about 150 years old and i assume they both started under age 10)
Tearing the whole thing down at the end, was great for the audience to have a trick they couldn't quite figure out as well; however I think it hurt the trick. Once teller saw that the big sell at the end was these boxes, and the audience's reaction to them; it becomes quite apparent that they were not there before, calling into question exactly what was there before. It was a thrilling finish, but the wrong one to trick Penn.
So we're gunna just ignore how dude's cancer friend died? No no let's keep patting special little connor on the back. He's not using the story of a dead friend in a disgusting way at all.
i expected a reversal or something, like the trap door wasn't actually a trap door, or the other person was a distraction. the guy said it was a pair act from the start and had a big curtain in front and things on the counter that scream "trap door" i wasn't expecting it to be exactly what it looks like.
As Penn has said many times on this show the show isn't really about fooling them, it's about magicians coming on and putting on a good show and I think that you boy have done that even if they know how it's done it's how it's presented that matters most.
