I like what the Kentucky American Chestnut Foundation is doing to breed resistance. The New York Chestnut organization sounds really promising. I can only imagine the work that goes into growing vast numbers of trees and then waiting to find out if the tree can survive blight. Keep up the good work!
One of my boys was griping about having to study all sorts of formulas and didn't think it would ever be used. I took him to a tree that we were gonna cut for the sawmill and wrapped a tape around it to show him what Pi could be used for and how to figure board feet. It excited him to realize that he was learning real life lessons instead of just something he would never use.
We using maybe the word is grilling to increase fruit on a tree - not to keel the tree. Maybe there is another word for what we are doing (using a very fine thin execto knife
I would not use just water to test the accuracy of my sprayer. Herbicides and dies change the volume at which the sprayer disperses what is being sprayed through it. Purchase a measuring cup that is specifically used for herbicide mixing and test the sprayer in that using your mixed solution.

Thanks for uploading a very informative vedio. I really appreciate it. Could you please share a vedio on sample plot enumeration sheet ? I want to know what variables are there and how can we calculate it.
Only one petal forms the shoe. The shoe is NOT made of several petals fusing together. The single lip petal (labellum) folds and inflates. American botanists do NOT regard the small-yellow lady's slipper as a separate species. We do recognize 3 VARIETIES of the same yellow species of Cypripedium parviflorum. Check out the appropriate volume of Flora of North America. Cypripedium kentuckiense resembles C. parviflorum but IS now considered a separate species and has a much larger-rounder shoe. Yes, orchids do produce some of the most complicated examples of f flower architecture and pollen dispersal but that does NOT make them the most highly evolved plants.
Great explanations! In Canada, we use the Barkblaster girdling tool for auto adjusting girdles on most tree sizes and it is auto-adjusting and very safe method
I did 10 logs last fall. it is march 27th and their starting to button. I did 45 logs this fall . their in hibernation now. hope they all do well. I have 3 restaurants who are gonna buy them.
Thank you! I am searching for a good video for a friend, to help him learn tree measuring. I like that you showed a Board Foot, to get that concept across. Your explanations are good. I am sending him your way (via RU-vid that is.)
