The best version of "the great gig in the sky" was Sam Brown as the first choir, and the 2 others are amazing but Sam Brown had a powerful, voice , great vocalist
Saw Floyd on the original DSOTM tour.in Manchester Quite unbelieveable gig I'll never forget. But this cover too is sensational. The word "cover" seems almost an insult to the amazing standard of musicianship Dream Theatre possess (who I've also seen live).
You can see John's face how he's trying to sound like Gilmour and how he's loving it, there's something about a guitar singing like that, that only a few guitarists can do
Im a big Pink Floyd fan but I only listen live to Brit Floyd. The sound to me is less dark or fresher. Also DT live sounds good and the execution is also very good.I love it.
Esta excelente banda americana vem atuar a Portugal até o fim de 2024! como banda de canções originais desconhecia por completo estes covers dos eternos Pink Floyd!
When this great band that i love makes a tribut to the Pink Floyd and I realize how insane good Pink Floyd is, listening since 1975 and DT since 1989 going to see Dream Theater in Sweden this year for the third time! 🇸🇪🇬🇧🇺🇸
i was super sceptical when i first saw this so i was fully prepared to be a hater and diss this but apon seeing it and realizing theyre attention to detail, i get the feeling these guys could play anything and do it justice, and they do, im beyond impressed, what great musicians

I'm not a fan of Dream Theater at all. Of course, one can easily recognize excellent musicianship in this band, and I would say this is probably the best cover of this album, for which one could ask. The only thing i would have asked to be different (in terms of the band performance) is the band main vocalist to drop the Sebastian Bach -esque hair band distortion in his voice and cleave more closely to the original vocals. I feel that not only did it not add anything authentic to the performance, but it was rather cringe-worthy. The first time he did it I was like, "Ooooook - well, that was out of place!". But then he did it again, and again...and every time he did it, all I could think was, "Quit f**king doing that - it doesn't fit!" In terms of production, the stage show was really rather good. Whoever was tasked with tracking the main vocalist on camera, however, needed to iris-down or white balance the camera or *something* . I'm surprised they allowed that really terrible camera shot to remain in the final cut of this video: you can't see the dude's face at all - it's just a white blob with the outline of hair.
i got in fight in bar this man had the nads to say he couldnt talk over this so you know me i put a20 in it played the whole time i was there now he listen to big gig in the sky all nite
I like the way this band clearly sees itself as a cover band rather than a copy band. None of them seem to be making a serious attempt to sound like Gilmour, Wright, Mason, or Waters but have still remained reasonably faithful to the music itself. Copy bands have their place but a cover band that keeps to the script this well is also worth listening to. It is like listening to Beethoven with a different orchestra, arranger, soloist, and conductor. Keep to the script but allow the individuals involved to play it their way.
