A few of the trumpets actually named their instruments, the only one I can remember is from my best friend, and her trumpet's name was, "Bartholomeus Matthew Garcias III" And I play french horn, so I named that, "Maj. LiHornie" I gave him a backstory, too. He was a fighter in the military during The War Of The Winds. He was on the Brass side, with percussion allies. One day he tripped and fell into a trap, causing a dent in the bell. He hasn't fully recovered, however, he has his PTSD human (me) to help him get through his troubles. I care for him well, cleaning the mouthpiece regularly and greasing the slides properly. He is happy and healthy now, however with a scar that shows his battle to those who come in contact with him.
I love band to no end. And I totally feel this as a student lol. My trumpet is named Jenkins because he has spots like an old man. And we call those stands at my school Elevator stands! And we have our arm circles and 4?! I love band.
The flute player next to me created a place called the “Spit Pit.” It happens to be right where my music falls when the stand decides to fail. My music gets soaked rather regularly.
As a beginner trumpet player all of it was accurate, but if I’m talking about myself the only thing that’s not true are the pencils, I just look at the music sheet and know what note / valve combinations I need to play (I would probably need pencils if I hadn’t studied music before)
I’m in Middle school and It’s currently my first time playing the trumpet. I’m having some troubles playing it good so any tips to help. And are band is going to be goofy as hell.
I was actually the kid who thought there was something wrong with my flute on my freshman year. At the end of the year, I showed up to my first lesson of private lessons with it and she said it was extremely broken but we brought it in anyways. It broke in the middle of our lesson the next week and so that is the legendary tale of how that statement ONCE became true.
I can relate to the cellphone and the gum, before school was out tenor saxophones would always have their phone out, and the gum, a trumpet almost always had gum.
That literally sounds like my entire marching band when I was in high school. We actually went away to another state to do band camp. Everything was relatable except for the food part because we went to a church camp that cooked food for us.
