Three years now I've been trying to get a copy of te wheke here in the US. It is more difficult to get ones hands on than some of the really famous first edition books. There simply aren't any copies available for purchase anywhere. I've even sent relatives on a wild goose chase to find a copy of it at second hand stores and schools in Aotearoa when they were on vacation but to no avail. I sure wish that it was still being printed somewhere.
Beautiful korero...Herstory not History. Your words mirror everything I know in my heart to be true and rite but could never articulate. And thank you for the proverbial 'clip round the ear' reminding me that a period of deprogramming will always look and feel like a heap of shit, why wouldn't it...but the return to liberty, wisdom and freedom is the end goal 'cause it feels great. I LOVE YOU!!!
