I played DS1 and DS3 before DS2. I had the gut feeling it was gonna be a gank. It was too perfect. Items at the end. If I try to roll to evade any attacks I would die. But I wanted the item nonetheless so I marched up. Turned around and lo and behold 4 hollows. I immediately confronted them, making it so that I could fight them evenly without the risk of getting stunlocked to death or falling off. I survived the encounter without dying for the first time. Moral of the story, if there's a chest or shiny item, watch your back. Its probably a shiny bait.
