After over 30 years performing as a professional musician, I am starting this RU-vid channel to share my knowledge on all aspect of the life of a touring/recording artist.
A new video will be published every week on Double Ds Rock School Channel, bringing you the best real life experience you can get!
Video production: Dwane Dixon Video editing and Channel management: Blob Trotteur Media Inc.
Here is another option. Tune the guitar to Open A. Instead of of lowering the 6th, 5th and 1st down a whole tone, try raising the 4th, 3rd and 2nd string up a whole tone. You'll get the same kind of tuning as Open G but it will be in A instead.
Have to agree I have not got the time nor the patience to play a song note for note . But what I do is jam along to my favourite tracks . Sometimes it works straight away , sometimes it does not . But what annoys me , many RU-vid videos say this is an easy way to play a song . Nothing I have found is easy learning guitar .
I remember buying LZ3 and thinking hey! there's a lot of acoustic guitar on this thing! After the first 2 albums it was quite the shocker, but then I remembered oh yeah White Summer!
I just finished reading Keith Richards' biography in which he talks a lot about adopting open G tuning for most of his playing after a certain point. In his and Jimmy's riffs, it delivers such power. Very productive tuning.
awesome list.. thank-you James Hetfield's cousin. I needed this cuz I have a Keith Richards style tele with a humbucker in the neck that I keep in open G with 5 strings
Best resources for open G I've found and on point to those of us that are not experts! And right balance of dynamic music so it's not so boring that it only applies to beginners. THANK YOU!
I so appreciate your vibe! As a teacher myself, I live by the axiom, "Show, don't tell!" It's immediately clear that you can play, but you teach by showing what's possible once we've embraced the lesson(s). Thanks so much.
@@doubledsrockschool I've been learning to play slide guitar on my original 1987 Guild Dreadnought D-25 in open G . This video helped me understand how to start playing, without the slide. I bookmarked your channel, thanks.
Great songs ….love it. But…jump jack flash is the one that is most enigmatic song ever…sounds great but is not the easy to find the right way …I guess it is better in open E tuning
Thanks so much!! I have seen different performances from Keith Richards, where he is using both Open G and E Open. I always thought it was Open E until I saw him using Open G in one clip.
