Hi there, I'm Jessie Rack! I have a PhD in Ecology and Evolutionary biology from UConn, and I am an environmental educator for K-12 students in Tucson, through the University of Arizona's Community and School Garden Program. When I'm not getting paid to shout about nature, I'm doing it for free as the president-elect of the Pima County chapter of the Arizona Master Naturalists. I like running, roller skating, reading books, and playing outside!
My frequent co-star, Penny the Cat (also known as Penny Pie Sparklepants) is a 10-year-old flame point Siamese. She enjoys playing in the yard, napping, and licking up only the liquid part of wet cat food.
Oh no! Great presentation, but I almost fell out of my chair! At 12:34 you did this side-wise bobble head movement so close to the plant that I thought your head was going to get porcupined by those thorns, or spines, or quills. Ouch! Be enthused, but be careful too! :>). Enjoyed and learned from the video, thanx.
Great job on the video. I've recently moved to the sonoran desert and was interested in the plant life. Keep it up! And sorry about the weirdos in the comments.
Wow the horned lizard is one of the desert animals that I admire the most. A few moments ago I uploaded a video about the chameleon. of the desert. Thanks for all this information friend. Greetings and blessings. Take care in that desert.
IT IS INCREDIBLE EVERYTHING THAT DESERT ORGANISMS have had to adapt to survive in such an unsightly environment as the desert. Great video friend. Congratulations, greetings and blessings. You have a new friend.

Yay another video!!! I know a special almost 8 year old that is ecstatic to know that one of favorite scientists has another lesson for her ❤️ I know when we watch this video and do this lesson remotely together she will enjoy adding more details to her nature journal. Thank you Jessie for the video and we are looking forward to your next one 😁
