There are many things I want to say about this arrangement. Here at 0:17 and 1:21 there are some really nice and unique extra notes, these extra notes make the song more epic. In May 9 1991 you can hear a simpler version of this arrangement, it only has the extra notes as I mentioned above but it is enough to make the song better. The extra notes here at 0:28 further emphasize the feeling of what was originally a piano composition by Glkina (these extra notes also appear in the Soviet 1988 version, the Afanasyev version before 1993 and Afanasyev after 1993). Honestly, this arrangement is underrated. I still don't know who arranged it (most likely Nikolai Mikhailov). I imagine if Yeltsin decided to hold a Vday in 1992, there is a high chance this version would have been played at the parade. September 23, 2024 17:35PM
At this time, Yeltsin began to age rapidly even though he was feeling good at the time. On May 9, Yeltsin was skinny but still looked the same as he did before the surgery. By May 31, he had gradually changed to the point that if he immediately gained weight at that time, it would still be difficult for him to return to the way he was before. At least 1997 was a pretty good year for Russia, and Yeltsin around that time was quite cheerful and agile. Since then, Yeltsin looks different every month. September 23, 2024 11:38AM
I like how conductor Pavel Ovsyannikov chose the best version of Patriotic Song. And the American national anthem also plays very well here (though I prefer the pre-1945 arrangement to the current arrangement). I wish there was a full recording of both (we had it on the first visit, but it was from a camera mic so it's missing a few instruments, especially on the Patriotic Song). In addition, we can see that Yelstin is leaner, at the end of 1994 he became fatter. I really hate Clinton, but it's interesting that Hillary Clinton finds it interesting when the patriotic song is played, she even moves her head to the tempo lol. September 9, 2024 6:04AM

I feel like Americans are also upset with that "Russian Anthem". And somehow they played the national anthem correctly in the first game, and in the second game they played the wrong anthem. Septembe r13, 2024 6:21AM
Yeah exactly, how strange it was during the second game. That was such a strange track. It's actually Slav'sya I've found out later but it's so slow and sad sounding
They're playing Afanasev's 1993 version, but because of the arrangement of the instruments or the camera's mic, the extra notes aren't very clear. September 13, 2024 3:32AM
Come back Soviet Union. The world needs you more than anything. Imperialism has reached it's highest stage and the world seems like it's collapsing. I hope Communism prevails at the end of it all. Thank you for this beautiful video.
