So cool to find your video! What a trip! That Tacoma setup for sleeping is quality! How do you rate Tuweep vs Point Sublime? Have been to the latter but not the former. Really want to see Tuweep some day. 9:50 - in that exact direction - watched two sunsets there with my son over a couple of days in early June, 2021. To this day - in a lifetime of being outdoors - the views combined with the solitude make PS probably the most spectacular place I have ever been. We drove out from Nashville in a GX470 - had our TRD wheels and T/A KO2s. however, so we got out there with no problems along the Point Sublime Trail from Widforrs in the NP. We were lucky enough to get permits for one of those two tent campsites at Sublime. Got there early in the day and chose left side, looking down into the canyon directly from the tent. 11:16 - You are at the Crystal Canyon viewpoint, in the national park rather than the national forest. Did you interact with any park rangers? I am a LNT camper and hold myself to a high enough standard that I would feel comfortable camping there, but I worry about a negative ranger interaction in a place where there isn't permit camping. To be fair, a few months before we went, some clowns on camping dirtbikes posted on Instagram their trip to Sublime while camping right off the road between Crystal Canyon and PS - they also created their own fire ring and made a rip-roaring fire during a total fire ban. I am now officially a new subscriber. The GX is gone, and I have an '04 TLC where I can sleep in the back. Need to refine my skills, and you have the guidance needed. Thank you.
Watched these videos so many times before becoming a pilot. Was always an inspiration. I am now at a legacy carrier and still find myself watching it again. I dont know where you are now but Thank You!
Awesome to hear! Good for you in getting into your dream carrer. I am flying for my dream company as well, and still enjoy every day going to work. There's nothing like this carrer with all the dynamics involved.
Yes, I think its fine. Its rare that water conditions allow full throttle crossing anyhow, so no need for all that horsepower. Its more comfortable to go slower and less noise.
highly likely you can use this. There are 2 C claps each side that hold it to the bed. As long as you can use a C clamp on the edge of the bed, you should be good to go
Its a 90 HP mercury. I would buy again as the value is perfect for the trips I do. A big thing with any boat is the routine maintenance that must be done for prolonged safe operations, which most people ignore or don't spend the time doing.
Hey my friend ,,, I'm from Kuwait ,,, Thank you so much for your videos and for the information . I like it !!!! I have also a Kodiak Canvas Truck Bed Tent, and I like it very much. As a recent owner of a new 2023 Tacoma SR5 with 6' bed, I've vasilated between purchasing another truck tent like I had on my 8' bed 2008 Tundra or getting a Softopper...even considered keeping the well designed lockable tonneau folded back with the truck tent. Whereas my former tent was a Napier with sewn in floor, I rather like the ability to keep the bed organized as I like and simply set up the tent over it. I noticed that Rightline bed tents also come without the floor, but with nearly $400 in Cabela Bucks, I'm inclined to purchase the Kodiak canvas tent. I also love the idea of total flexibility since I plan on hauling a small Honda trail bike or scooter in the bed when traveling and a hard topper would prevent that. Thanks fof the inspiration to move forward with my decision to have both a tent and foldable cap. I'll keep the tonneau for times I need more security locally in the truck bed.
Amazing video full of knowledge and with so much detail. I'm very impressed with the outdoor shower. Again, I appreciate the clear explanation. Thanks, bro.
someone did a drive test with the kodiak still up to see if you could move around the mountains without taking it down. It holds up to like 50MPH. crazy. its easy to set up. it works great and has great headroom. I bring a few foam mattresses and sleep 2 easy with canvas zero degree bags. Comfy. great hunting setup.
MINE WITHSTOOD 50 mph winds in WY +curt Goudy)..stationary...I drove 20..mounted ...last year...so why not ? From zone to Zone? Problem? KTM Dirt bike LOL.. solution? get rear Skid Mount tail hitch carrier. versa Hual. MOTO Tote etc. So happy....
I just visited bayliner website and did a "build" of this boat with pretty much everything but the fishing package and the price is 33,000. Taxes and deal fees apply. :)
Looking at this for a Ridgeline. How is it for mosquitos getting in between the truck and the tent fabric? Id try to block the holes by the tailgate but im wondering about them coming up at the front by the cab. I too want this with a soft topper (leaning towards buying the Fas-topper).
I have a 2022 shortbed 2wd Taco. I don't intend to be going too far off road. Love my Kodiak Canvas truck tent. Although I am 6'2", the down tailgate gives me just enough room lengthwise. Thanks for your video, looks like a great time.
My guess it's going to have snow right up to next winter. A good guage is to watch the Mammoth Mountain Cameras and see when the dirt starts to show again. Going to be a long wait!
I bought a Kodiak Canvas truck tent for my Taco a few months ago and will be taking it out in a few weeks. We set it up initially at my daughters house as a test run. I really like this tent and am looking forward to using it. My daughter looked at the loose areas and suggested that I use magnets to hold the tent against the body a little better. I sewed some strong magnets into pouches and will give that a try. Thanks for your video, stay safe and God bless. ps, I'm 6'2" and wish I had a longer bed truck but with the tailgate down I fit.
Awesome! I also bought some larger C clamps as they were easier to work with then the small ones provided, especially when going over the tie down rails. With the tail gate, you have 6'10 inches... should still be very comfortable. The tie down straps should hold the tent down pretty tight, even with the extra material.. but the magnet idea sounds good. Cheers.
