Thank you so much for the lovely video! It brings back so many memories. I lived in a trailer very similar to this when I first got married in the 1980s. I have been on the search for one like the one we lived in and this is about as close as it gets! Our kitchen was a different configuration, though but all else the same. In our trailer, we had sliding wooden doors in between the kitchen and the second bedroom and also between the second bedroom and the bathroom, and then between the bedroom and the bathroom! I know that sounds complicated but they were so nice my cabinets in the kitchen were that same wood. I believe it is birchwood. And yes, we had that porcelain tub also. And the toilet and a very small sink right across from it. I used to joke that you could sit on the toilet and brush your teeth at the same time it was so close! I could take a bath in that tub and stretch my legs out completely, that's how long it was. It is rather cramped style living, you can't have too many possessions. But you can be very, very happy in it regardless. Thanks again for the video. I continue to search for one exactly like the one we had. Oh how I wish I could find the photograph of the Insignia next to the door on ours.
My family camped when I was a kid. We rented a camper that had a tent that folded down and then slid over the camper. That is how our family went on vacation. Later my parents bought into Holiday Camplands in Ohio. You owned the lot your camper sat on. They did buy another camper a 30 foot a few years later. We used the camper for getaways when we girls got older and then got married. It was sad to see it go. Many happy memories were made there. Once I forot to close the top vent in the camper I ruin the floor in the camper. My parents werent too happy with me.
What happened to you? I noticed you haven’t uploaded any videos in quite some time. You have a great personality and an infectious laugh and smile! New subscriber here. Hope all is well. Take care.
If more than 50% is all new, then its not restored, its rebuilt. Very nice regardless. I love dark colors and less light, but thats just too much like being in a coffin, for me. I'd have put a lighter wood on the ceiling or painted it a light color.
I remember Grimace. He was on springs and you could hold the two bars in the middle and shake him. Kids shaking a giant metal cage on springs. What could go wrong? I mean, I lived through it.
This is a magnificent ode to that era. Ive never heard of these before. Not even when randomly googling retro caravans. Ostentatious yes, but just gorgeous. Great you were able to save some of the original pieces.
I have to hand it to you. The trailer is Gourgous what you did to it. You don't get the charm in a new trailer like you do the old! Keep'em coming The very best like the up stars so cool!🎉
I spent three months in one of these in Anchorage AK when we moved up there in 1971. It was run down then and disappeared by the end of the year. Quite an experience. Your video brought back some great memories.
I actually laughed out loud when they called the AMPHICAR, AN AQUA CAR,!! Close but NO CIGAR AMIGO,!! The former king of Sweden had one in his automobile collection at Skokloster Castle.
