All those crazy rounds they design trade one advantage for another in ballistic terms. Swapping mass for more expansion and velocity. 9mm starts off with half the mass of a .45acp and only 50% faster at best with fancier lighter ammo or a carbine. But if I was to get a 9mm, I like that SA35 Hi Power. They fixed the bugs and reviews are favorable. It is a pretty thing, 15 rounds of double tap. I'd run +P semi jacketed flat nose in it for sure. I'll stick with .45acp FMJ for the 1911, it works great.
I tried to take my shield 2.0 out the rotation since I have a few micro 9's. but I can't. The shield 2.0 is a great shooter Extremely reliable and very easy to carry.
Hardball or hollow points both are lethal, the differences is not just energy transfer but also pass through, hardball you're more than likely to have a pass through compared to hollow points
Nonsense take. Fmjbhas killed mor epeople than any fancy Ticonderoga teleporting points ornwhatever your talking about. Stop quoting boomers at the gun store.
The .22lr has killed more people than nuclear weapons too. Your analogy doesn't hold up, a well designed expanding/fragmenting round is significantly more effective than an FMJ. Any experienced soldier will tell you that.
@@michaellavaughnrobinson I mean, the entire US military has moved to expanding and fragmenting rounds for more than a decade. Ask them about their Ticonderogas and see what they think.
I did they both penetrated through Automobile steel door and a whopping Ten 0.5” SOLID PLYWOOD planks and kept on going had to use a Flathead screw driver and dig both of them out of my oak tree as my backstop
@@djangofreeman9382 that's ball ammo that takes advantage of it's one good quality, it goes through shit. Thinking about getting some to put in a 9mm carbine since it's a lot more likely to bust kevlar armor
@@jessebailey5962 Precisely zero, and you? I choose expanding ammunition over FMJ, so does the military. Fact is the military does use hollow points and frangible bullets. M1153 a 9mm hollow point, M855A1 a frangible round, Mk318 SOST a literal knock off of Barnes triple shock hunting bullet. I could go on. Go play your milsim video games or whatever you do for fun.
@harrypeterson9287 Dude I served 8 years in the Army and been more firefights than I can count, the Army uses standard hardball ammunition unless you're an MP but even so they use standard hardball ammunition as well unless they buying their own ammo lol, but out of all my time in the Army we've always used standard hardball ammunition for both rifles and light and heavy machine guns, the only ordnance that is different is the armor piercing munitions that have either a steel or tungsten core, and if it's an Apache gunship packing a 20mm chaingun the ammo is usually depleted uranium rounds or explosive rounds
People have lived after getting shot at with hollow points people be gullible People also died getting shot from FMJs lol Any bullet Is deady on the right hands
I agree totally. I have modified Gucci stuff, but it is only for the range. My self-defense firearms are as they came from the factory and tested for reliability and ease of use.
Always 115/124g for compact/SubC but 115/124g HPs for SC/micros for expansion/penetration through barriers, always keep HPs in oem standards and Criticals/FPFMJ/🪦Woods/FMJ in marked extds 💨🚪🚘🐗🐻
Now what are the results against 4 layers of fabric? I think I prefer the 147 GR due to the penetration but I wonder how that 3" barrel will fare against heavier clothing.
Average person 6" if a straight chest or back shot, if the target body is angeled or if bullet hits from the side of the body of even through 1 arm or should plus chest, it can easily be more than 12" of meat. The north hollywood shootout was exactly that problem that didnt incapacitate. Thanks for video
Just the video I wanted to see . I’ve have the same pistol and have been carrying that same ammo. What did you change to or are you still using same ammo ?
Love the video!!!!!! No bullshit straight to the point and the info we want! Wish more people did videos like this… Imma subscribe just on this one video…Make more content!
