It might be! I didn't intentionally include that theme, but if it sounds like it's there I say it's there! This arrangement ended up taking on a life of its own towards the end...
So found your channel last night. Your music was mostly played when I was working today so thank you for that. Also thank you for have a unique way of remixing the touhou music.
Love the translations that you do, but this is actually the first time hearing your music. It’s quite good, is all I can say. Really hard to rate this super high with all those doujin circles out there, but I did enjoy it.
Thanks for listening! I agree, there's so many other inspiring and amazing circles out there, I've just been grateful to be part of it for all these years
Thank you for your comment and enthusiasm! It's really important to me that the arrangement's origin as a Touhou remix is preserved wherever it is used
The album is now up on Spotify: open.spotify.com/album/4kFT7E9jgkZtSj8HKQodag?si=qqAtkAY1TByRVSBWiAMAGQ I'm hoping to eventually have my stuff distributed via the official channels, but it seems there's still a few more hoops to jump through to make that happen...
I have another album coming out! This time, I chose the release date to commemorate nine years since I released 'Welcome to the Satellite', my first Touhou arrangement album. Like Snowflake Desire, this album is based on reimaginings of my earliest arrangements which I released back in 2012. I'm planning for this album to be my 'farewell' of sorts to making Touhou arrangements. I don't want to say goodbye because that feels really final, but I also want to give myself space to try new things. Being able to remake my Ten Desires arrangements fills me with satisfaction, and I went all out with the title track 'To the Cosmos' in particular - I can't wait for you hear it!
Thank you, that means a lot! The clarinet truly is a wonderful instrument, and it's so good to see others out there playing it as well. Wishing you the very best with your clarinet playing!
Rigid paradise goes so well with desert-y vibes. And deserts do get pretty cold too. Plus, Youkai hook on is a really cool and energetic track as an addition, plus, arctic/polar deserts are a thing too ^^
Thanks! Loose Rain gives me a strong nighttime vibe so rather than a desert in the heat of day, it could be a desert at the dead of night... Youkai Hook On was a late addition to this arrangement, but I agree - it's so energetic!
This was originally a mashup of the themes of all the gatekeepers in Touhou when I first released it as Gatekeepers' Heart back in 2012. I feel like the number of gatekeepers has increased since then, but I only added Doremy's theme to this version.
This is a complete remake of an arrangement called 'Resonance Excursion' I made back in 2012. I stripped it back to its very basics, which gives it a much more melancholy feel. Picture yourself staring off into the distance at snow-covered mountains...
Some of my favourite themes, combined into a relaxing and jazzy tune. What's not to like about it? Sitting in the kitchen, cup of tea in hand, and looking out of the window while letting your thoughts wander, while this plays in the back. That's a great way to start a Sunday ^^
I haven't listened to your music in a while. It gives me nostalgia because I have a very strong memory of listening to one of your Len'en albums on the edge of my bed in winter when I was in high school. Really pretty! Your jazz rhythms are really well-executed. I see you still have your signature half-time chord progression style.
Thank you so much! I really enjoyed reading your vivid recollection of listening to one of my Len'en albums, it's like... it reminded me that my music and arrangements exist in a space separate from me, I guess? I lose sight of that sometimes, so thanks for reminding me of that.
One of the few brand new tracks in this album. I really threw everything into this arrangement, as you can probably tell from the list of original themes! 'The Collector’s Melancholy Afternoon' was a very very late addition, but it was nice to add some 100th Black Market tracks in this album.
I thought that, if I only had two more Touhou arrangement albums left before I moved on to try something different, I wanted them to be Ten Desires albums. I uploaded a mashup called Snowflake Desire back in 2012 and here, in 2023, I feel like I was finally able to do Desire Drive justice!
That's actually really cool. I didn't know you have been around for so long. I really like your music, it has a unique feel to it, and, compared to other artists, I think your approach of blending several themes is really interesting. Your works are chock full of creativity, and I'm always impressed by the way you interweave seemingly random themes into one coherent unity. Do you have a certain method, do you just pick some, or do you just go with gut feeling to decide which themes go together?
That means a lot to hear that! Thank you. And yeah, I started back in 2012 but ended up unlisting all my content from before 2016. When I finish my next album, I might think about a way to bring more of that content back... When it comes to choosing which themes to blend together, I generally take one of three approaches: 1. Themes that sound similar. This is how I started back in 2012, since I'd normally take MIDI files and cut and paste them. I'd sometimes have two or more themes playing at the same time. 2. Themes that fit a certain criteria. For example, I chose a selection of title screen themes for 'Old Haunts' and themes of most of Touhou's gatekeepers for 'REM'. These tend to be more difficult since the themes sound nothing alike... 3. Themes that fit a certain mood. Like for this track, I went with three themes that made me think of snow and made something new that draws on the original themes. And of course, sometimes I just pick themes I like and go with that!
It's very cool to hear the sewing instruments being used as actual instruments- As I am wearing headphones right now, I also appreciate the stereo effects of the panning of the percussion.
Thank you so much! This album has a special place in my heart, I really enjoyed adding some virtual sewing instruments to make some different soundscapes. I wanted this track in particular to be very atmospheric, so I'm glad the panning and stereo effects of the percussion came through
