The fluid looked roached. That's what mine looked like at 42,000 miles. Mine was also 8 oz. low, which is a lot considering it holds so little. I refilled with Valvoline synthetic Mercon LV. Can never go wrong using Amsoil though. I'll be at 30,000 mile intervals from now on. I have the pump that screws on to a quart bottle. It's a little clumsy, but works good although a big slow. I also re-use the gear lube bags Amsoil has. I kept them after I changed the gear lube in my 2500 rear diff. Using those bags is the best way to go. Very fast and easy.
How did your transmission do with the amsoil transmission fluid. Everything i have read everyone says to only use the mercon LV. Please let me know how the amsoil did. Thanksn
Transfer case oil motorcraft. entire truck 7.3 1988 Ford f250 is totally everything amsoil.but transfer case no way...it's not the same oil my friend.its lighter and diffenrt from what I know sir.when it comes to transfer case I don't play...good video though sir.god bless you and your truck sir.noce truck
If you look in your manual, it depends in what kind of driving. Your "normal" driving was like at 100,000 or 150,000 miles... and towing and harsh driving was at like 60,000 I believe. Just check your manual.
I plan on doing my 15 as well. How did you decide on the amsoil atf for the transfer case? I know ford recommends the motorcraft xl-12. I personally would prefer the amsoil seeing it meets the esp-m2c166h.
Eric Greenslate I agree, amsoil is good stuff. Did my engine oil, differential (rear) and the transfer case yesterday. I went with the red signature series ATF because it says it meets the ESP-M2C166-H specification. Red cap has the same specs as the lx-12 that’s was in it. I’m sure the blue cap would have worked but I’m paranoid about stuff like that. Wish there was a good way to do the transmission fluid change. It’s hard to do a full swap by yourself.
If I'm not mistaken, your box is sealed? Idk how long ago this was but man you gootttaaa put the Kickers in the biggest recommended ported box. Trust me, I switched over a while back and it doubled, if not tripled what the were doing.
