I grew up in Arlington. My impression of Arlington has always been they have done a sorry pathetic job of preserving their history and continue to do so.

I remember the Big Town Mall sign stayed up for a good 5 to 10 years after the mall was demolished. I think it was finally taken down when FedEx built their new warehouse on the property.
