Doyle's a very quick-witted and funny man, but he's an even better author. Currently reading his latest book 'The New Puritans' (about wokeness) and it's excellent. He writes very concisely and with considerable depth. I notice the blond basking in her 'panic attack' while continuing to slug down lager. She was probably more distracting than the boorish drunks. The answer to her 'condition' is JUST LEAVE DEAR.
Bravo for such cool handling of these twats Andrew! I am just starting to dip my toe into comedy (I'm a musician really) and it's so much harder in so many ways.
I once saw Sean Lock get horribly heckled by about 10 drunk guys - the theatre management did nothing. They were just shouting stupid things and, like here, were soiling the punchlines. No matter how good you are (and Sean is/was one of the very best) you can't do anything about it. They were eventually removed at half time, much to everyone's relief.
Absofuckinglutely brilliantly dealt with. I do hope that sweet woman in the front enjoyed the rest of the show. It would be a pleasure to see you perform someday.
maybe the thing to do to people constantly talking is to stop and sit down in front of them and just start listening and repeating what they say to the rest of the audience. Once they realise they have nothing to say and are boring everyone they will shut up.
I've been in a show where this sort of behaviour has gone on and he did an amazing job. Not only did he get rid of them, but he also made everyone laugh whilst doing it and calling them what they were. A bunch of C.... Just like the show I went to, it was carried out by a party of people none of which tried to calm the others down. Basically, they are a bunch of cowards out to be selfish and ruin other people's nights...Failed in this instance.
What an absolute fudging champion he is, handled it with perfection. Understood that people do get drunk at comedy events, gave them multiple kind warnings, got them to leave, consoled an upset audience member and then broke the tension with humour... that's the sign of a great comedian. Bravo mate.
To the man who threw the drink - you'll always be remembered for looking and acting like an absolute c×××! No need to prosecute you. You have a life time memento of your visit. And it's been shared to the world, tough guy! And what the fuck were you doing chewing gum whilst drinking! Such a discerning man! Bubblellicious and Stella!
