This gag is just one of those things that shows how Sam isn't as "normal" as Max makes him seem by comparison. Like, you expect Max to go hogwild over answering the phone, but Sam is equally invested in it as him (if not more so, if we chalk up his consistent successes to just wanting it more)

A lesbian is a woman who's romantically attracted to women. A trans male was a woman assigned at birth and transitioned to a male.
