I'm a pipe welder and do mill maintenance at a local mill. I find some of the coolest little bits and bobs from there. Like lots of caps from swedgeloc fittings and plastic cover pieces from new pipe flanges. I've had a collection going myself lol.
Hey, thanks buddy. Always appreciate a generous comment. We're surrounded by engineering excellence aren't we. Bits and pieces that sculpt our every day lives. Sounds like you've got enough around you to create something great. Hope to see something from you soon. It's been too long since I made anything; life got in the way this year, but I've a few ideas I hope to create in the new year.
I am so so sorry for not replying.......It's not the 1st time I've not had a notification. Yes Swiss Army Knife lol. Reminds me of a film with Daniel Radcliffe, Swiss Army Man. Great fun. Thanks for stopping by.
Stop kicking yourself bloke, you are putting your soul out there, and it shows. “They are better than me” is relative, keep the faith may the north east be with you!
It goes without saying that I hope you check out my Pod Racer and 1st Order Walker vids too. I've just released a Short video too of an Empire Probe Droid made from a VCR head. :D
I've just checked your channel out too. With that level of attention to detail and Nerd Spec I really hope to see more of your work too. The Smugglers Room and Rebel Base Builds are two of my fave Star Wars creators.....
@@scratchmyjunk9931 Hey thanks man! I wasn’t planning on doin anything more than a response to a couple of channels; one of which stopped posting last year. That’s not to say I don’t have a ton more to show off. I could put some thing else up. Thanks for the encouragement!
@@scratchmyjunk9931 Aye, I think what happens (i heard from someone who heard from someone, type thing) is if you sub to someone after a live stream, it may auto-unsub ya... I do not know if that is ture or not, have i know it has happened to me with people i have subed to... odd-ball youtube stuff i guess
Thanks Silver. I wasn't sure if this was a statue or a real fighting bot. I think on my next build I'll try adding lights to a sword....I sense a rogue jedi coming...
Hey. What a cool idea......like a Valkyrie even. You know i didn't even give them a second thought. I just stuck them on....now I think I need to make something with wingsss. Cheers.
@@scratchmyjunk9931 Glad my slightly skewed perspective gave you a bit of an idea for the future, that's the beauty of creativity....now, crack on lad, crack on :)
@@QujinComicArt I've no Idea.....but might stick around known things like Marvel DC and Star wars....Also need to work on creating my 1st Diorama....A lot to do, just lacking a bit of vision right now. :D
@@scratchmyjunk9931 hmm... how about some of the craft/build challenges that Aaron, silver or Andy are doing. Paul, doing a challenge does help get a guild line of something to create from and may give you a jumping off point to try new things. or make be try wee builds, like a one item build, were you take that object (and glue) and build a bot or whatever out of.
@@QujinComicArt Last week my plan was to do a load of small lid bots, Star wars inspired, but I became distracted. So basically didn't create last week. I'm not aware of any other challenges going on though?
For a copper patina, a simple blue-green acrylic paint wash does the trick! These were the most helpful (and shortest) videos I found when I wanted to this last year: ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-R0PEUX6ykFM.html ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-dRH1rcUTbyk.html
Only compare your own work with your previous work not any body else's and you'll go far, I can't believe you only have 149 subs!!... I'll make it 150 keep up the good work and stop putting yourself down 👍🏼👌🏼🤘🏼
Thanks for stopping by buddy. I really appreciate your words,. You're not the only one to tell me to think better of my work :D But it's not a great paint job. I've probably done a good job with the lighting lol. That textured Sand Paint is just too big for the scale of it. I'm super happy with the build though :D Thanks for being my 150th. Yeah i hope to get more sub's but I haven't actually put that many pieces out. When I made this Pod Racer It hardly had any views (obviously if I'd only just put it out,) now it has the most on my channel. Star Wars Wins every time I guess. :D Allow me to do the same for you now. Subb'd.
Nice Work again. He is a big shiney boy isn't he, copper tends to turn green with age doesn't it?, maybe try a green oil wash on the big fella. My personal preference is staying away from Warhammer 40K , make your own unique world as you have been doing. Keep up the good work brother at any rate 🤔🤪🛠️☠️🏴☠️😎
Thanks buddy. yeah he certainly is Shiny lol. Might put him a place that catches the sun or even in the garden to scare the cats away :D I would like to patina the finish but I'll learn a bit more on something smaller I think. If I'm honest I'll probably stick to Star Wars Inspired stuff or what have you. I simply don't seem to have the skill or the knak for going too small, plus I'd need glasses as my eyes are failing :D
@@scratchmyjunk9931 I've probably a got a few years on you , been doing this artist stuff about a year, health issues, long story, healing through art, calming, relaxing blah blah blah, no stress etc. I'm getting quite good at this stuff, started to sell a few bits. Any how's yes do your own things, small is good, small as your eyes can focus on. Looking forward to the next build 🛠️👍☠️🤔👾🎨
Fantastic man, nailed it. Bit of weathering will make it pop. Of course my build is my favourite, might be the smallest of the bunch but it's all about the run up. 😏👍
