@@BiotechCareerCoach If that's the case, I was wondering why they all ask for cover letters if they don't read them? Lots of them ask for key selection criteria, is that just for fun too or do they actually read those?
@@paulietv2162 Sometimes the hiring managers like to read them. But first you need to get through the person screening the hundreds of resumes per role (usually a recruiter or TA person), have a call with that recruiter/TA person, and get selected to be presented to the hiring manager. Only then will the hiring manager see your application package. The whole process is antiquated and due for a shakeup, but until then, we have to play the game, and play it well.
