Hey there, I got myself an Avermedia Live Gamer HD (upgraded from my error-prone Hauppauge HD PVR) and have since been using it to finally give my channel some content. Thank you for watching!
I also stream gameplay at: www.twitch.tv/steadiestshark
I don't know if Vyse says this in the english version, but in the japanese version one of his lines are "Are you seeing this, Aika?" It's a pretty sweet line, but when I learned that Aika's voice actress had died before this game was released, it makes me sad :'(
Unlocking Vyse and this stage was my first priority after getting this game a million years ago. I don't care about getting a sequel, just having a steam port with some achievements is good enough for me. The first game was such a complete story. You could nick pick it, sure, but for me personally Skies is the perfect game. Ideally I'd love for them just to expand on the game if anything like they did for the gamecube. I don't want to get greedy but, yeah great game and always an emotional moment to see little tributes like this and in Valkyria chronicles as well.
@@pieminx400this game's an improvement, sure, but not in every possible way imho. the commentator feels more soulless when compared to the one in the first game. that one felt like he was actually commentating a race, this one feels like he is just... there. at least Graffiti City and Burning Depths slightly improve this. the option to choose different modes for a character felt like an attempt to make the roster smaller. this would've been fine-ish, but the models for the characters from the first game are LITERALLY IN THE GAME. the Race of Ages stage shows them off. like, come on, just let me play as Bonanza Bros. the all-stars are less special now, but I personally find that understandable since of the transformation gimmick. I have a friend who is really mad about that, though. sorry for ranting. I just really like this game and am a bit upset about some of the flaws.
One thing you never notice in higher difficulties is how well timed the music is to the track progression when there isn't any interruption. It starts out with Vyse's theme, soaring and adventurous during the first lap as you get to go through the town and see all the ships and marvel at how cool it all looks. Then about the point all the bad guys show up and blitz the place for the second lap, the song shifts into Military Facility, a tense and somewhat desperate sounding song. But then by the time you hit the final lap, it rolls back over to Vyse's theme to accompany the Delphius arriving on the scene to save the day.
Fun fact: The dev team showed a WIP version of this track to the original producer for Skies of Arcadia to gather commentary and suggestions for how it's going. As the track played out, she was reportedly moved nearly to tears at how faithfully they had translated the vision and spirit of the original game. Now that's some good work from Sumo!
It's a shame they didn't add Billy Hatcher, but put a race track from his game. Same senario where they put in Ulala and Pudding, but didn't include a stage for them. I hope they remake this game on the Switch with new Sega game series added in and putting in pervious characters like Billy Hatcher.
What would have made this level more awesome would be the Hydra dropping the armor plating below it on the final lap and firing the Hydra Cannon at the Delphinus and then the Delphinus firing the MoonStone Cannon to sink the Hydra. Hands down my favorite RPG on the Dreamcast and top 5 of all time. The ship battles were my favorite part and the ship battle themes goes well in World of Warships or pretty much any game that has ship to ship battles.
Seeing the delphinus fly again was spectacular. The potential behind a new soa game is huge, sky ship cannon battles alone would be phenominal as a gaming concept. Worlds adrift is trying to take up the mantle but nothing would beat a new soa
Correct me if I am wrong, but these are all the references: Skies of Arcadia fans can expect to find ships and other features like the Delphinus, the Lynx, the Hydra, the Albatross, the Cygnus, Generic Valuan Ships and generic Blue Rogues Ships, Rhaknam the arcwhale and Pirate Island (recognized by the windmill). Moonstone showers can also been seen falling by the Silver Moon. Also, I think Rhaknam was cut in the Vita version. I think the 3DS cut it and maybe many other things (due to its hardware power), but I do not have this version. And the music is there, obviously. : )
It's not even just the careful attention to detail that gets me, this song is so perfectly arranged for the track too. Lap 1 is delightful with some intensity, then you hit Lap 2 and it changes to the infiltration theme as the ports and ships are being ravaged, then finally on Lap 3 it returns to triumph as Vyse and Co rush in on the Delphinius to save their comrades. I don't know how intentional that was, but damn if it wasn't that's a great coincidence.
This game would be even better if it also had Aika and Fina. I just finished the first disc of Skies of Arcadia and it's one of the best JRPG's ever made.
Connor it has been a long time but I'm pretty sure that it's a remix of the theme that plays when you find the purple whale and get shot down by ramirez' ship
Sure man, go for it! - You may want to double check that it doesn't show any gamertags popping up though. :p EDIT - I'm guessing that you'll be downloading/recording it yourself, right? Unfortunately I can't give you the original file because it was on my old PC. :(
This music is dope it fits fighting perfectly tho 👍🏼 Man Future Gohan is my most favourite character besides vegeta he's epic tho and not a failure like current gohan 😕
