2 batterys are parrallel and tge 3rd uses an isolator to keep it from being drawn from. The 3rd isolated battery runs the vehicle, lights. A 250amp alternator provides the charge. The Goodwinch Turbo Winching system puts the 2 batteries in series with a flip if a switch which allows 24v into the winch motor when winching in. I have this setup in 2 rigs and it works great. The Turbo kit comes from Goodwinch in the UK.
Stock axle housings and differentials with upgraded Ashcroft axle shafts. and Ashcroft front air locker, welded rear. Tires are 38 x 13.50 x 17. Yes I do break parts and have learned to drive easy, replace parts and winch instead of wheel spin.
every time I think I want to build a buggy, I remember how much they cost and how much they weigh and how much they cost to maintain and then I just give up the idea of building one lol
Man…I wish I could have gone out and rode shot gun with you. I’ve been buried in a new project so weekends and evenings are busy. But dang…shoot me a text next time if you want a winch cable runner and camera man.
I know you enjoy the winch and thrash of recovery but that had to be an exhausting day with two trucks going down. I would have loved to be your spotter on that run but already learned the limits of my truck set up on that sugar snow. Great video. Thanks for sharing.
Very physically demanding. The cutting of trees is what's really taxing. You get one cut and out of the way just to see another one in the way a 100' away.
