Really enjoyed the review and ride. Looking to buy a bike, leaning between this, a Spyder F3, or a Super Adventure S. But really like this one. How is slow speed manuevering? If I do service at good intervalls and replace wear parts like bearings and such in time, what kind of life expectancy may I get? Looking to replace car for bike. Is 300,000 Km too much to ask? Cheers from Swede in Mexico
This was massively enjoyable.....Your commentary on the bikes maintenance expenses were interesting. MORE! MORE! Showing us some of your UK countryside was very different from what I am used to seeing here in the States. Please feel free to include a lot more of that in your future videos..............Liked/Subbed
Reverse, radiator, gearbox, pannier, burning oil…. He may not have had a final drive failure (yet), But come on. I’ll be the first to admit the BMW makes a beautiful machine. They also ride incredibly well. When they are running, which is, of course, the huge caveat. I got burned on a GSA that had the final drive shit itself at 26,000 miles when I was on my yearly vacation and I was 300 miles away from a BMW dealership. Took a day to find a way to get the bike to the dealership took another day to get the bike to the dealership then I had to sit for a week and a half for them to get the final drive replaced. It ruined my vacation. I will never forgive them for it.
I had a K1200 for 10 years, and loved it. The engine was like an electric motor, quiet, smooth and pulled in any gear. It sounds like the K1600 engine is similar.
You can change the Digital display in the settings, It will replace the radio Display, But you cant have the two of them on at the same time, it will only give you the speed in the radio wiindow.
Great video, thanks for sharing enjoyed it a lot.. I'm hoping to moto camp soon, just purchased the gear but waiting on a good weather forecast as not as brave as you. love the triumph, dream bike for me 🏕🏍🏍
Great review, this inline 6 is butter smooth, it’s unbelievable. I test drove the 2023 model today, K1600 GT. In 2 minutes I felt right at home, and I’ve never been on a BMW bike before, the sales person recommended I run out the 350 kilometres of gas the tank had left 😂. I wish but no way, since they had taken my visa before the test drive, just in case something was to happen. I have never, ever, in the past 18 years of riding motorcycles rode one without the proper moto GP outfit/gear. Frankly, I could not believe the sales person utter the words,” I wish you can test drive the bike but you have no helmet.” I was like what! But this is the best motorcycle and motorcycle gear store in the country 🇨🇦 . So after 15 minutes I was hooked, on the highway I felt like I was on a jetski, the bike is so planted, effortless and it was on rain mode. It had rained a few prior, just to get to the store, it was a 150 kilometre drive for me. So I could not turn down his welcoming offer. So easy to ride, I honestly felt the nimbleness of my Gxsr 750 and beyond the power of my 109R. Just superior in every way. Smooth like Michael jackson moonwalk, like the,” Luke, I’m you father 🤣. Wow just amazing. The one think I didn’t Ike was when a trelease the throttle, I felt some kind of engine braking. That I found weird. I assume it was because of the mode I was on. Ride safe everyone. I pray to God one day I can get the 2023 model GLT, for the wife and I.
I've been a cruiser guy for nearly 20 years now, and I've been looking at getting a more comfortable long-haul type bike. Several years ago I had a friend of mine, a motorcycle state policeman, mention he would get a BMW if he had his pick. My in-laws have been long term Goldwing riders. I've watched several videos on the K1600, but this video has convinced me. Time to get away from the good ol' American V Twin and upgrade. Besides, my middle aged body is getting too old to take all the bumps nowadays. Thanks for the good content! By the way, the blurring of the speedo is a good editing trick, lol!
Just a quick thought, wouldn't it have been better to sell it over there and buy the newer nc750 in England save all the faffing about with import and speedo ect 🤔
2:49 it's not, that's a myth that needs to be dropped, the car engineering division collaborated for the first time with honda motorcycles on this nc engine, but that's it 😊
Good Video. i have the Triumph tiger 1200 GT Pro and i love it. when i don't use the bike or when i park up i do switch my key fob off. At least it was only something simple
Yep. I like it. Alot. It's not as smooth as a GS, but I prefer the size of it and not riding so.ething everyone else rides. It's a workhorse, eats miles, carries a considerable amount of gear.
@@trident999 I do not want a gs Too popular and also the shaft drive go rusty on gs but I don’t think tiger has that problem personally I think it looks better Guess I best get a test ride cheers mate
What you pointed was an oil radiator, so water cooled bike was overheating due to oil radiator damage, sorry but it sounds weird to me. I have GTL and yes radiator can get blocked due to dirt from the road and even get damaged by stones but in most of the cases all you need it just pull radiator out, pretty simple and give a good cleaning and it works fine, done on my bike couple times, currently have 61 thousand miles on the clock.
Apologies for the confusion. The water radiator required replacing not the oil radiator. The dealership advised the need to replace it. I was surprised they advised it couldn't just be cleaned.
It's a fantastic site. The drying room makes it an all year prospect above freezing. As I told Peter below operator error on the key, doh. You live in a wonderful part of the country!
Dear LORD, what a view! Great video, the only thing I'd change/add is a few minutes of on bike sound - that Tiger growl is a fantastic sound to listen to :) Cheers from Poland!
I really like the Triumph. It's really good for the type of trip in this video. Getting a new bike is wwwaayyy exciting ... well done, hope you enjoy!!
A really enjoyable video - no frills or any unnecessary chatter. Nice to be able to enjoy some of the routes in mid Wales (an area I know very well) with some pleasant easy listening background music. Well done. 👏 👏👌🏴🏍️
Great stuff dude, whether could of been better, take a chance this time of year, lovely scenery. Shame bike let you down, seems strange as you have put a few miles on your bike regarding charging. Maybe electrical problem? Cold weather shouldn't affect the bike, it's a fairly new bike. My battery on my k1600 lasted 8 years, good going😁 Hope you enjoyed your evening with your son. Is he into bikes? Have you still got your k1600?
Hi Peter, Wales is great anytime. I love the contrasting shades of brown in the landscapes and the cloud formations. I had footage of the AA arriving, but I had to cut it as the sound recording failed. I'll admit my key was disabled (doh). I gave the AA guy 20 quid for his trouble and swore him to secrecy. The K1600 is in the shed. I do off-season camping on the Triumph as it can carry more kit. Thanks for watching. I appreciate it!
Why didn't you consider the FJR Yamaha 1300 IV had 2 the first a 06 with 164000kms and a 2012 with the heated grips it's what I own now it's got 41000kms and will probably be the last bike IV also got a Honda CB 125E for commuting
I had the opposite happen. Following an accident (not my fault I hasten to add) the insurance company had my Bentley recovered on a low-loader, and two days later my courtesy car arrived: Ford Fiesta. Going back a fair few more years I bought a beautiful Kawasaki VN1500. What a lovely cruiser it was. When its first service was due I took it to Clay Cross Motorcycles (CMC) and the courtesy bike they gave me was a Bandit 1200. I had the Bandit for 2 days and when I got the big slow Kawasaki back I realised I wanted something significantly more powerful......So, with the big cruiser barely 2 months old I part-exed it for a 'just released' Suzuki Hayabusa. Since then I have owned (amongst others) 6 Hayabusa, and 2 Kawasaki ZZR1400.
That's quite a tricky question. I've been kicking around the idea of getting an XR since I got back. It was certainly very comfortable, & very spritely. I loved the feel of an inline 4, with the rabid chase up the rev counter to the redline with ever-increasing torque and power. It's way more of a hooligan than the 1600 and would work well on a track day. But could I drop off the 1600 and walk away with an XR? ... Probably not... Nothing beats the 6 cylinder smoooooooooooooooooooooooth ride. The M1000XR @ 200BHP might have swung it, but I want/need panniers. And I'd really have to get rid of both the 1600 and the Tiger, as the XR would conflict quite a bit, being in the middle of the two. In my dreams, they'll do a K1600GT with 200+ bhp and a dollop more torque, and I'd be on my way to heaven. I can't see that happening, though. If I were to have one bike, I'd likely go for the XR, it has a broader range of purpose. That said, I still think about the XR...
Great review. I appreciate your honesty and enthusiasm. I fancied a K1600 but finally opted for a 2018 FJR1300 which is awesome. Nice twisty roads you were riding. I recognised Kimbolton. What other places did you pass through? Is that a Simon Weir route you followed? Safe riding dude.
Thanks for the comment. The route was predominantly the B645. Arrived at Kimbolton from Huntingdon across to Abbots Ripton, Sawtry, Glatton, and Catworth. Turned right at Kimbolton and went up to the A6 & turned back to Kimbolton, then turned off towards Graffham at Staughton.
Hi Great video, how have you got on with the sat nav mount, Is it the Evotechlolo one, There have been some reviews saying it vibrates a lot, yors seemed quite steady in your video.
Very nice roads ! I had same idea to ride in winter in this area or Morocco .. Even it's a little bit cold you have sunshine ! ... I love the idea to ride there ... Beautiful video ...Have safe trip ...
