I collected my SS at 62, but my husband is 60 and still living. Can I collect benefits from his SS now? Or us that only if he dies? ...if I can does that affect the amount he gets paid later?
My husband is 65 years old. Will turn 66 in November. And I am 62 and a 1/2. He retired last year at 65. And we were waiting to file for social security so that he gets the a larger amount. If he is not going to be working from now on, will that change the numbers that it says online that he will receive when he turns 70? And how much difference is there? premium. earned. Will it change the amount that he is going to receive?
So now there is a 2k cap on prescription drugs. Some of these drugs are for illnesses caused by poor lifestyle/diet choices like type 2 diabetes. So my premiums/drug costs are going up because of other people's choices....nice

I'm from Alaska, I used to work at the Navigation center in Palmer. We help those in need, especially the homeless winters on the way. I like your program a lot! I can see how much we can do for our state.
My dad retired at 62. He is 90 yrs old now. He said retiring earlier than what’s recommended turned our being the best decision for him. Most of his co-workers at the phone company waited till age 70 to retire and several, surprisingly, ended up passing away just a year later.
FYI. I receive Medicare with part A and B. I also receive Tricare for life! Tricare notified me to say that they will cover my prescriptions, most have zero copays! I use Express Scrips!

My granddaughter applied for disability and was told it would be 6 months before she had an answer. Are they that backlogged? She cannot afford a lawyer
I am 55 years old, divorced with a minor child. I work a full time job. My exhusband retires at the end of this year and advised me of a child benefit available. We are not disabled and our child is healthy. Can my child receive the benefit off of Dads retirement? And does it last until he is 18?

I’ve been a Medicare broker for 20 years and NOT ONCE have I ever had a client regret getting their supplement. The MedSupp member can always make the change to MedAdvantage (at open enrollment) but MedAdv can’t always make a change to a MedSupp. Under the trial right rule, the MedSupp person making a change to a MedAdv can switch back at any time during the next 12 months. These reasons you’re giving are what a good agent should be doing for their client anyway. The one reason you gave, assuming a person will always be healthy is silly. No one knows their future. For the fact MedAdvantage has prior auth, cost shares that can go higher than the Part B deductible, many providers aren’t accepting MedAdv, but do take MedSupp… why give people the idea they don’t need a MedSupp? This is just a waste of time advice.
can someone help me-- anyone-- i dont know how to get in on the q&a…. i have subscribed and clucked the bell but i dont get notifications in a timely manner.
My doctor advised me to apply for disability instead of unemployment. I just got laid off and turned 65 and got Medicare, I reach full retirement In December of next year, overwhelmed it’s all happening at once .in chronic pain and 3 possible surgeries pending
Will be increasing the group of people that I share your videos with to include the parents of children with developmental disabilities that might not be severe enough to preclude some sort of employment when they are old enough. There might be a very careful decision they need to make if they want to make sure their child can collect benefits on one of their records down the road.
This is my 3rd time filling since 2013 this time I been waiting a year now since my husband passed I really need it he’s not here to care for me anymore and my son died after he did, SSA doesn’t care about anyone
You might want to go to the Social Security office in person and have them start the process over. I'm wondering if the application was lost if it's been an entire year since you've heard anything?
I have found my local SSA offices to be very helpful over the years. If there's more than one location that you can get to physically and you are having a problem with the one you have visited already, you might want to try another one nearby. I think the rank and file workers at the offices really do want to help, but they can only do stuff within the government rules. And Dr. Ed has mentioned a number of times that they are very understaffed right now. Maybe the one that took your application is one that has such a severe staff shortage and huge backlog, so they haven't gotten around to yours yet.
@@TakenTook they just been saying any time it’s in the determination department I’m calling determination department Monday I got the number Friday I’m wanting to fire my lawyer cause he’s done nothing and I’ve never even spoken with him
@@TinaThompson-bh6kw -- Calling that department is also a good idea, and hopefully they will be able to fix the situation. But if they say they can't help you over the phone, I would still try to get to a different office in person, and ask to speak with one of the specialists who handles those applications. Good luck.
So many people think that this is money they “miss out on,” just because they don’t get it while they’re still working and making over the earnings limit. Thank you for explaining that this is temporary, and will benefit you in the long run, if it’s right for you to keep working.
