For as long as I can remember, I have loved video game music. I started making MIDI covers of video game songs on vgmusic.com, back in early 2008, and my covers have only gotten better since then. Occasionally I also make countdown lists of video game songs and other discussions of video game music, and I even have a few original compositions. Enjoy!
making my own version where is supposed to sound more water like as the original music was supposed to be for an under water level. its not supposed to be a smash brothers remix, but rather a regular remix of the snes version while borrowing some notes from the smash game. like to think that the smash version was partial the unused and original version of the water level stage
Mine(with more context): *Tidal Tempest* Present: JP - Not a close call. The US version is easily the most underwhelming theme in the game(although it feels more fitting for this Sonic game and doesn't sound bad.), the JP version however, while being in the same boat as the othet JP songs in the game, it sounds better and very peaceful. (Note that I still think the JP version fits better in other Sonic games except this one) Good Future: US - This was easy. The JP version is easily my least favorite Good Future JP song. It's just a rehash of the Present with some ear grating instrumentation which makes it the laziest Good Future track in the game, the most repetitive(they cut out the beginning part of the Present) and the most boring. The US version however, is one of my favorite songs from the game! Like with Collision Chaos B mix, they went full blown badass in this one! The xylophones in the beginning add a watery touch and is longer, more easier to the ears and more enjoyable to me(especially that guitar solo!) I just can picture a hydroponic garden/sanctuary or aquarium while listening to it... Bad Future: Tie - They're both fitting and enjoyable! Final Thoughts: Yup! It's a pattern. In one I prefer the JPN OST(the Present), in one I prefer the USA OST(the Good Future) and in one I like both(the Bad Future)
Mine(with more context): *Collision Chaos* Present: JP - This was easy. While the US version has a surreal tone that makes it interesting, it sounds boring and too dark for the Present. I'm in the same boat as you in the JP version. Good Future: US - Yup! That's right. I prefer the US Good Future over the JP Good Future! The JP version kinda lacks everything I liked from the JP version but it does sounds good and soothing. The US version however, has an awesome guitar, a great atmosphere and gives you hope to continue saving Little Planet. Bad Future: US - This was easy. The JP version is easily one of the most underwhelming songs in the OST. It not only lacks everything a Bad Future song needs, it also sounds monotone and boring. The US version however, is just plain badass! They managed to make a theme that sounded dark(the Present theme) even MORE dark! Those guitar power chords, those worn down drums and that loop ending are the icing on the cake! Final Thoughts: Present aside, the USA OST has better songs for Collision Chaos in my opinion(Especially the Bad Future.)
Here's mine(With more context): *Palmtree Panic* Present: Tie - Why should I prefer one over the other one when both sound good? I mean, nobody can sleep on the awesome acoustic guitar solo and the Mexican vibes of the US version and the cheerful and energetic vibe of the JP version! So, yup! It's a tie. Good Future: Tie - This was easy. Both songs sound lackluster for me. The US version while going for a "relief" approach, it feels boring compared to the other songs in the game. The JP version is just a rehash of the Present theme. Bad Future: JP - Really close though. I mean, the US version does NOT sound happy! Some of the vocals are worn down and the instruments sound bleak. I give the point to the JP version because of how good it is, and the US version, while not a bad track(it started to grow on me), it feels boring compared to the JP version. Final Thoughts: Unlike the other zones, Palmtree Panic is the only one I have problems in selecting which soundtrack is better cuz they both have good and atmospheric songs.
I loop this easily a whole work day about 3 times a month. It's one of my three favorite Sagat Remixes. Just wanted to thank you for this and the M. Bison theme. The pads and bass here, the frenetic 11/8 makes his theme so unique and you made it amazing and a comfort/motivational listen.
How does sounding too evil make it not fit IT'S LITERALLY A BAD FUTURE BROUHUHH Ok to be fair it's your opinion but I find it a bit dumb that a song is too evil when the point is being really evil and hopeless
The workbench seemed like an impossible feat to construct but the determined residents of little planet knew that a small contribution of resources time and labor would see great returns for all of them in the long run due to the very vertical design they developed passageways through the walls the design was more practical as much as this zone can be the development was slow practical and constant before robotnik took over and rushed the project to completion so he could use it for his evil purposes this song represents the pure motives of the original workers and now are you going to let it all go to shit? No find that generator sonic.
