Would love it if Ufotable remade the Fate Stay Night route. Seeing as they remade UBW and then went on to make Heaven’s Feel, I think it’s fitting to also remake the original route.
Damn, now I'm going to be depressed for a whole month, this final broke my heart into pieces. I loved the romance between Shirou x Saber, it's perfect, one of the best and most exciting I've ever seen. I don't even have the desire to watch the other routes anymore.
90-2000's, the era where isekais and reverse isekais (FSN has many themes but this one is often overlooked) actually ended with the transported person going back to their world, and with them all their experiences learned/felt in the story. People do not shed tears just because Saber's story is ultimately doomed (she can't reverse her kingdom failing, it is barely explained in FSN but FGO/extella goes in more details about the timeline pruning phenomena) and she returns to that inevitable fate. They do it because at this point it is shown Saber returns willingly, even if it means death for her & Britain, and even if it means separating from the person she just confessed to, allowed her to drop the facade of Arthur the king of knights and ultimately just be the girl she was before pulling the sword in the stone. It leaves you with the bittersweet feeling of in one hand wanting for more, but in the other hand satisfied that it happened to begin with. and this is a Fate route thing, not UBW nor HF can reproduce it, even in the VN, much less in Ufotable botched adaptations story wise. Modern isekai? Forget it, just regurgitated wish fulfilling garbage.
God forbid they ever make a good ending scenario for Saber in this fucking series. Why can’t the cycle be broken in one of the routes and the champions allowed to survive?
Unlike archer (future self), This Shirou didn't ask for miracle like making contract with Alaya and become a counter guardian to keep on his Ideal. This Shirou became an ideal hero of justice of his own in the future where the only miracle he got at the end of his time is that he eventually accepted by Avalon and reunited with Saber (Artoria).
Saber isn’t my favorite pairing for Shirou, but this scene is still damn good. Especially that soundtrack! I do hope they have a really good adaptation of her route one day.
How about we start over? Forget everything, do it all over again? Either way, you're magnificent. I doubt I'd find someone better than you. If I love you, I can't force you to bind yourself to me.
