Official Virtual Steward channel, a small app for Assetto Corsa that lets you open and analyze replay files. Available on Overtake (ex Race Department).
Hello. I'm trying to get a merge a replay but when loading my replay file, my AC hangs at 'Waiting for asynchronous loading to finish' then crashes. I've also noticed that it loads the wrong track layout. What can I do?
If you can, upload both the zipped original replay and the merged one somewhere and send me the link, I'll take a look. Please use a direct message on Overtake or Patreon, don't post it here.
Hi there, neat little program. Wondering if you can help me though, if I click create track lines I get the slider for track width but then no actual lines appear. Just wondering what I might be missing? I notice in the settings, under the reports folder section it says in bold red letters "Assetto Corsa not found in that folder, maps will not show". How do I fix that?
Hi, in the settings the first one is "Assetto Corsa folder", usually it's "C:\Program Files (x86)\Steam\steamapps\common\assettocorsa" but it depends on your istallation, set the value accordingly and the red message should disppear (the message is below "Report folder" because I show there any message relating the above settings). About the track lines, make sure you right click selected at least one player in the player list and at least one lap int the player's lap list. Player name must have a gray background while lap must have a car color background and you should see the lap line in the map. Keep in mind that this is an experimental feature, made mainly to test if I could analyze players' lines, I definitely suggest creating legit track lines inside AC. Hope this help, let me know if you are still having problems. Edit: sorry, I just tested on my PC and it doesn't work, probably has to do with the recent refactory, I'll look into it as soon as possible and update the Overtake version.
@@VirtualSteward Hey, thanks for the response. I figured out shortly after commenting that the red error message was in reference to the Assetto Corsa install folder. Since it was under the "Reports" heading, I thought it had something to do with the VirtualSteward documents folder and the AC files needing to be in that folder. Realized it was looking for AC in the wrong place and I fixed the error. The track lines didn't work for me either after fixing that. I'll have to look into the track line thing in AC, how do I go about doing that? It's for the Spa track. Forgive me for not just doing my own research on the rest of your videos, but is this program able to merge and compare laps in real time? Let's say my personal best lap in a race was lap 5 with a time of 2:18 but the race record was JimmyJenkins69 with a 2:15 on lap 2. I know how to make the racing lines for those fastest laps show up (so far without track lines), but not how to directly compare my lap with the fastest. Is that something the merge thing can do? I'm trying to find out where I'm losing time, I'm on that cusp of being "fast", but know there's still a long way to go before I can keep up with some of those absolute monster laps people are putting out. I'm kind of in that "best of the rest" stage.
@@swamlurk If you're using the Kunos Spa track, fixing the AC folder should have made the track lines show up. There are tracks mods that don't have track lines, the Virtual Stewart create tool was meant as an hack to have something to look at. Creating them in AC is not straight forward, I myself have never done it, you can start here if you are interested: www.overtake.gg/downloads/ai-line-helper.16016/ But, as I said, shouldn't be necessary for any Kunos track. The merge tool is meant exactly for what you are asking, just right click select the two players you want to compare, since on load the best lap for each player is automatically selected, you don't have to select it unless you want to compare different laps. Click on the sliding car button on the top to show the lap merge dialog, click on the "Create merge" button, the program will add to new players on top of the list and hide all of the other ones. Tips: expand one of the players and click on the lap number, this will move the timeline selector to encompass just that lap, this way the lower slider will let you move through the lap in a more detailed way than when the whole race is selected. If you add checkpoints to the track map, the car in front will stop at each of them and "wait" for the one behind, I suggest adding one of them just before every major turn. Keep in mind the to add checkpoints the track lines must have been loaded, so it will not work unless you already fixed that problem. PS: I just discovered that the option to align the two cars at the start line with the < and > buttons doesn't work very well when checkpoints are enabled, I'll hopefully fix it in the next release.
Hello, I'm trying to merge a replay, but I get the error "offset and length were out of bounds for the array or count is greater than the number of elements from index to the end of the source collection (Parameter: Count) When I try to load the replay with two cars, the 2nd car is damaged, and it tells me the packed data can't be read. I've merged replays before with no issues, wondering what could be causing this? Thanks :)
@@TSRB Hello, apparently the refactoring of the overtakes highlight feature impacted the merging feature, please revert back to version 0.4 which should work. Someone reported a similar issue on Overtake but I just got back home, I'll take a look in the next days.
@@VirtualSteward I just realised, I used chat gpt to automate using the program as adding 50 replays and merging would take too long manually 😂 I wanted to gatekeep the program until the video is released so nobody copies 👍
-------------------------- Hello, first of all, congratulations on your work, an application like this for Assetto Corsa is something that I have been missing since rFactor. A couple of questions, what version is the application currently in? The one in Racedepartment or is there a newer version that has not yet been published?
Ciao, è già scaricabile su Race Department: www.racedepartment.com/downloads/virtual-steward.65530/history Fammi sapere cosa ne pensi o se hai qualche idea per funzionalità da aggiungere!
