Thanks a lot for this wonderful video ! The music's very loud covers up Mariane's voice, at a certain point her voice is almost inaudible (UTMB part), it's too bad that your hard work for this very nice video is a little bit ruined by the sound editing. I hope my observation will not upset you, this kind of video is amazing !
@rzombi666, I have plate, screws, and pins in my left knee area from a tibia plateau fracture in 2017. My surgeon told me at the time not to start a running career. Six months ago I started running and so far no problems. Have you experienced any difficulty? Thanks, John
I have so much respect for anyone that runs marathond. However, ultra marathons, bad water135, that's on another level that I will probably never reach total respect to all who undertake this challenge. La creme de la creme !!
Gr8 video. Wudda like if it showed the miles/kms covered in the corner as the doc/race went on. Just for us ultra novices. Also some incite into how he trained. Anyway well done. Awe inspiring. Id love to run an ultra
This guy tries to say the CIA is only involved in foreign affairs and not domestic. Either he's ignorant or lying. And quickly becoming a podcast "celebrity"
Thank you for the video! At 4:10, you mention an article that Andrew wrote on pain... would you please supply a link to it? I did some googling but haven't found it. Thank you!
That “we are in this together” is a core belief of running ultras…people first. I’ve never felt like ultras have been a competitive thing they almost always feel like a group run. We’re all trying to finish this fast as we can but you help others even when you don’t know them.
Thanks for sharing this with us. I have had the honor of meeting Lucja and reading the book about Gobi which by the way was sooo good!! I loved watching how hard the Badwater runners work to finish this amazing race. Great job on the film!
Thank you! 🙏 Truly appreciate you taking the time to watch it. Dion, Lucja and Gobi are always fun to be around, glad you had the opportunity to meet Lucja and Gobi.
I read Finding Gobi many years ago, great story. Awesome to see Dion's journey at Badwater, great job filming in tough conditions! Editing was awesome as well, great flow to the story. Thanks for sharing, I enjoyed it! I do question your shirt choice, black shirt in that heat? Crazy!
Congrats on the hard finish! The true measure of grit and determination is not finishing when all goes well, but rather those races you complete despite everything going wrong. Binge watched your whole Leadman series - what happened!? Is it your rib injury? Or was the 100M MTB problematic? I'm looking for any tips and advice as I'm also mostly an ultrarunner learning the basics of MTB for my attempt at both the Leadman and Grand Slam in 2022. Documenting it too on my channel but I clearly don't have your talent at story telling - but hey at least my mom gets to follow my journey!
Ah! I can totally relate. This season I pulled and strained my core oblique muscle a few hours before BlackCanyon 100k....while reaching out for something in my car. Yep, that's ridiculous, but still what happened. Finished the race, but it was seriously hard and painful. That's when you realize how much you use core muscle to stabilize. Now 2.5 weeks out, still feeling pain but at least it's improving (e.g., can raise myself in bed without pain) and it shouldn't jeopardize my whole season. Big plans for 2022 :)
