No wonder i was having a hard time breathing underwater with the guardian. I was only able to breathe through my mouth, causing me to panic every time i swallowed while being underwater. I didn't know i needed to move down the equalizing block. Thinking you're only able to breathe through your mouth can rock your boat if you know what i mean. great mask by the way.
My great uncle MM1 Orville Rusher is entombed somewhere within the Arizona. Tall, slender with black hair and light blue eyes, all of 21 years of age and full of life with a tender heart. Struck down on Dec. 7th 1941. Wish I could have known him......
My husband’s Uncle Richard Owens is entombed on the Arizona. We are going to visit the memorial for the first time this year. I’m sure it’s going to very emotional for all of us!

In 1972, I visited for the first time. Some Japanese tourists were laughing and acting like it was a joke. I walked up to them and yelled, Hiroshima boom. They quickly shut up and went to the boat to leave.
Goddam good for you, Sir! The Japanese to this day have never admitted they did this and routinely ignore their beastly behavior in Nanking and many other atrocities.
The fact we allowed Emperor Hirohito to visit the U.S.S. Arizona still bothers me. Mind you, I’m glad the United States and Japan are now Allies. I’ve visited Japan and it’s a beautiful country, with a great culture and wonderful people but there are still things that shouldn’t be done.
I have a great Uncle that is still on that ship. He was 18yrs old, served as a water tender. He had that day off. His buddy's wife came to visit and switched with his friend so he could visit his wife. My uncle went back to work and that's when the Japanese bombed he USSArizona. He was killed instantly. My great grandfather use to tell me stories of his little brother. RIP to my great Uncle William Ratkovich!
God bless your great Uncle, May he rest in Peace. I was born and raised in Hawai’i and have been going to the Visitor Memorial since I was in the 8th grade (1982). Now, my 17 year old son always wants to go to Pearl Harbor when we return to visit Hawai’i.
I own an OTS Guardian, it fits good on my head. But when i have a hood on. It hurts my jawbones. Also the straps are not long enough when using a Hood that also result pulling the hood off when taking the ffm off.
Rest in peace for all the soldiers on board the US Arizona that was destroyed by the Japanese during World War II and after the attack on Pearl Harbor, we made Japan pay for what they did, and they absolutely lost war. They didn’t stand a chance against United States. They pissed off, the wrong country to go to war with, that’s what they get for messing with us December 7, 1941 is the date of infamy which we never forget that our country was suddenly attacked by the Naval air forces of Japan
That seems like a not as good idea. Granted you still have an alternate air source right there, but if it doesn't work out for whatever reason you just exhaled which means you're going to really want a breath while you doff the mask again and stick the octo back in. I'm sure it would work most of the time but it's not how I'd want to teach the skill. Seems more likely to potentially make someone panic.
@@hoorayforhawksbills Yes, it's definitely an advanced technique. One downside to it is that you may become more negatively buoyant as you exhale. It's a technique we use as Public Safety while on the bottom. One reason we were taught this method is that the purge button can literally push the mask away from the face causing water to refill. Either way you better be holding it firmly against the face. But hey, you've got the entire rest of your life to figure it out! xD

The VEstal (repairing) Arizona my father barely survived and Vestal s captain got Medal of Honor. Captain Young for calling to cut ropes to Arazonia and getting underway and therefore not blocking way out of harbor. His ship with 2 hits from Japanese bombs. My father survived until passingawy years later.I am a proud daughter of all men on on both ships. Please these men. I am almost 80 years. My son was on the ship that the surrender was signed on. Now both ships in Peral. Vestal mooring block right there. Remember men on all ships.
