Winter systems are very dynamic as you have a severe weather side and a winter weather side. Mother Nature unleashes both at the same time. These types of systems could last for several day, as opposed to a normal severe weather event in the late spring and summer months.
I purchased a DSP yesterday (off the shelf from the local Ace Hardware) for an acquaintance getting ready for college. It was quiet hours in their apartment so I couldn't test the siren, but other than that, the only notable difference to me was that I couldn't find a way to turn the button beeps off (which definitely irritated the other people in the room xD). Nice that they added a setting for alert volume and allowed the LED indicators to stack. The people who dislike the pitch of the new beeps and alerts probably won't notice as much of a difference in-person as they think.
Why does the advisory tone sound like It wasn't changed. I wish they kept the alarms the same because changing the alarm rates and pitches weren't necessary. One thing I like about it is the alert volume! I might get a DSP in the future because I want to stick with my WR-120EZs for now. I also have an og WR120 at my other house.
I got one of these to mess with, and holy CLUNK… it is literally so slow to navigate the menus on and adjust settings with. Setting the time takes way longer than it should.
This is awesome! I’ll admit, I prefer the older sirens, but this one’s key tones sound much better. And the new functions are what the WR120 always needed. I think I’ll be recommending this radio to people now!
