My friend uses a splitboard, but the top of the mountain is steep and often icy so maybe that's why he took the shoes. He actually did switch over near the top.
Unfortunately, it was closed for maintenance. The view from the other side at Kyogoku Onsen was not the view I wass hoping for, but it was great nonetheless..
I went up today too, and I felt the end of the season even more. Just being in a snow covered mountain playground is great, even if the snow isn’t ideal.🤙🏼
There are definitely some dangerous places on all sides of that mountain. That particular day did not offer ideal snow conditions, but the top of the mountain was good. The lower half was heavy and dangerous. My buddies and I took the safe route down after 1100 meters.
This looks amazing! I recognized your boards from another video and I remember seeing you guys at Yoichi on February 8th 2020. You filmed my ride from the bottom and sent the video via mail. What an epic day that was too! Cheers and greetings from Finland from fellow Gentemstick rider! 🙏
Greetings from Kamchatka! Mary X-mas & Happy New Year! Nice conditions, beautiful landscapes❤ This snow also reached us, ethereal, mellow pow😍 Good luck🤞
swallowtail is the way.set back in respect to the surface area but centred on the effective edge..maybe need a short fat board in the quiver if the snow is too shallow for swallotails to sink
Hey! Thanks for the great video, any recommendations for Japan specific back country resources? (Ie. Avalanche forecast, weather conditions at the top)
I think using a guide can be a good way to enjoy unfamiliar territory. I can recommend TAKT mountain guides or NOBORIKAESHI club. Japan is a great place. Enjoy your stay here.
