I have been fortunate enough in my life to see Placido Domingo, and Pavarotti and Jose Carreras in separate concerts over the years in the early 90’s. Domingo was always my favourite, but they are three very different tenors. Placido did a live version of Tosca in 1992 from the very locations used in the Opera, and at the times of day mentioned in the opera when the action takes place. It was beamed around the world. He basically didn’t sleep because the last act, where this aria is performed, is set at night, very late, midnight or early hours of the morning. It was amazing. I think it’s available on video.
💖🎉🎈I love so much this song sing by him! Like a little gift fiesta ambiance just after a big work. When I finish my drawings, I love to lisen this song. Do drawing it's always take a lot of time even if we are a begener. We have to accept that and practice at less one each 2 week all our life. Our little therapy. When we draw we are the creator, the leader of all in the final image and we can make a lot of details!
Lara's microphone sound was at maximum (it resonated..) and Johnny's was lower.. It was Johnny who asked for it to be done like that. Lara was his guest at the Stade de France and he wanted her to demonstrate her vocal power and shine. Lara herself confirmed it. Johnny in all his generosity... Know that Johnny was a vocal power too but on this last interpretation he did not want because it was done on purpose, Johnny was very intelligent in doing that to make the song more dramatic and show their acting on this magnificent song that belongs to him. The desired goal was the dramatic side of the singing all in power but less than Lara (Johnny) with at the same time next to him a more striking singing power (Lara) and the passionate play between the two. Everything was imagined by Johnny himself to end the last interpretation in style. A masterpiece, perhaps the most beautiful duet in the world.💥💫🎉
I know this reaction is 4 yrs old, but this song was very popular, reaching the top 10 in many countries and #1US and possibly the UK. This came during the disco boom late 70s. It was a fun time with great memories that I miss very much.
