you dont know how to use the term "steep learning curve" but no worries, few people know how to use this expression either. Steep learning curve means that you learn a lot fast, but once you've climbs the short steep hill everything is smooth sailing... feature rich CAD programs are on the other hand are a long steady incline which you take months or years to reach the summit of...most users never make the summit and fail to learn all the feature. They're content with their view halfway to the summit so to speak. Nice little tutorial none the less.

No matter what I do, including holding down the shift key, Acrobat's Measuring Tool has a mind of its own and will randomly give me a straight or an angled measurement. How can I ensure a straight measurement every time?
I believe the mechanics of why this is happening is because it is using the embedded scale that was likely provided by the generating CAD tool. Check your Adobe Acrobat settings under Edit>>Preferences>>, then select Measuring(2D) from the left hand column. The first option listed should be "Use Scale and Units from Document (when present)". Ensure this box is UNSELECTED so that it uses the scale that you have setup in Acrobat. This should rectify your issue.
