Hey man, I just back to WOW after a few years. Never played Monk before. I recently tried it, decided to only try Brewmaster. Out of fun I hit 60 quickly. I'm currently making my way to max level. I have to say this is the only spec I feel like playing. It's fun and I don't care about trying the other two. But I want to PVP. This is why I'm so glad I found your video. I know it's old and I know you didn't care much about it, but I gotta say how much I appreciate it. I've searched and searched and there are only a few vids about Brewmaster PVP and this was the only guide I can find. So thank you. I would like to request more advice. Here are my personal intentions: - Only play this class. (Brewmaster) - Do everything in this class. PVP and PVE - Not really desiring to be the best in PVP, Just want to not suck at PVP. - A desire to do battlegrounds, arena and even world PVP. - Fun in pvp to me is more about doing well (not sucking) and less about being the best. Just want to have fun fighting. I'm going to use your guide as my learning step to move forward. If you by chance have any more advice, I would really appreciate it. Thanks again man.
I mean if you're gonna play the spec go for it. It's really bad after last few patches, so you're going to struggle more than ever. It doesn't fit a niche that it used to which sucks. gl tho
@@vismvp Ah man that bums me out to hear. What do you currently play? Can you share your bit on pvp and whats fun and doing well? Is WW doing well? Or any other class.
I only play my boomy rn and even then I've borderline quit PVP because of how unplayable the meta is rn. WW is good, one of the strongest melee atm. Everything just feels terrible to play if you don't have a DH or outlaw on your team.@@beefwater
@@beefwaterI've been doing good with brewmaster. I recommend you learn the other specs tho. I tend to only use brew tho. For pvp you have to stay on someone and basically you're the stun/interrupt guy. You have a lot. So I tend to glue myself to healer or ranged and just stay on them until some starts dropping ho near me then I swap and lay everything on em
@@vismvp thank you for a quick reply! I started to have fun again doing tank pvp after they nerfed prot pal and soon as i got geared on my brew we get a dmg nerf on breath
@@DaveonaBudget I mean the damage was nice to have but it wasn't the reason we were good. Just play 2x Frozen Devotion, Ring of Diurna's Chosen and the mythic wep from Neltharus and you'll still do competitive damage.
@@vismvp is there anyway to contact you 1 on one via discord or something? I have a few questions about trying to maximize my play other brew. And also some comps and how to beat certain comps
I main Guardian and bro people hate it xD But I love it, I´ve been wanting to play Brew for a while and this guide was exactly what I was looking for. Even if you don´t care, thanks!
i havent been watching my buffs while pvping but unless there's some hidden pvp-only nerf to the hit scheme/shadowboxing treads combo, one BoK does give you multiple stacks if it cleaves.
Good guide thx brewzin lite 😎two notes btw, blackout combo also affects the initial hit of BoF (even tho tooltip says otherwise) so use it after blackout for more dam and uhhhh.. spinning crane kick is worth pressing twice after bonedust + explo keg for big dam
Yeah, I wasn't getting into super specifics on it. Just lazy and recorded a 30 minute guide because I was asked. Kisses. WTB mastery not being shit stat though
@@moozkuro7557 Well it's as he said, BOK > BOF to combo with your blackout combo for damage. SCK x2, sometimes you can squeeze a third in if you're looking to burst on BDB for damage. I personally don't have the globals for that since I play the haste heavy build. If you're just wanting raw burst damage, play crit/vers and do exactly that.
Honest talk though, just play what you want. If you enjoy it, play it, fuck what people think. Do I recommend playing Brewmaster in PVP? No. But if you enjoy playing the spec, you should give it a shot and have fun doing it. Anyways, unleash your inner alcoholics for me please. I want the ladder to suffer. I only ask for credit to be given where it's due if you unleash yourself and stomp the rats. Stream is twitch.tv/vismvp, drop a follow if you want to see my "I don't care" queues where I ruin people's days. You can also find VODs there for how I specifically play brew.
Just wanna say thanks for the guide. I also think Brew is one of those specs that you play because you genuinely enjoy it, not because it is broken or a niche or underpowered spec- People just either click with it or they don't. I am now the 5th highest rated Brewmaster on EU, in part thanks to your guide, though I came to many of the same conclusions you did in your guide on my own. I am also familiar with the same frustrations and situations you describe about solo-shuffle. But, then again, I just play it because it is fun! Thanks again for the guide and in-depth talk. There is actually a guy called Brewzin on eu who is like 3k+ on brew at the moment, even when the brew ladder is something like 400+ players lol.
@@grimgangata1629 Yeah, Brewzin is the only other brew I've seen able to perform with it as well as I ever have. Hope he gets a r1 some point playing only brew so that I have some competition with it, but dude's a chill guy. People just don't play the game for fun anymore unfortunately, so hopefully that changes soon. Meta slaves are boring.
Hahaha why do I discover this pearl so late, the double kick setup at 11:17 is the best thing I've ever seen in legion pvp. Mighty ox Kick looks fun when it works as intended, it's still such an unreliable talent considering how many times it kicked people on random directions. It's kinda like Storm Earth and Fire I guess: sometimes it just refuses to work.
Nice lack of knowledge about the fact that characters can be race/faction changed and name changed. Now for the exact same character, worldofwarcraft.com/en-us/character/moon-guard/aiselas And just for notice, when this video was made, Tmorph was down for about 7 months, and the new tmorph wasn't out yet. :)
So to understand how to beat Prot Pallies in 3s, you need to understand why they're strong. There's 2 things for that: 1) Taunt Stacks. 2) 3 Bubbles(?). To be able to actually beat Prot Pallies you need to get rid of Taunt Stacks, how do you do that? Well in this video I actually use my kit to create as much distance from the pally as possible from whoever is taunted, sometimes using Tiger's Lust on the person to help with that. Maldiva even uses his port to create that distance. How to get through these bubbles? Guardian is simple, CC it, as shown twice. Spellwarding is annoying for casters but completely useless to melee. Normal bubble is normal bubble, wait it out. Do keep in mind, Prot Feral Hpal should slap us everytime, I mean I have a lock and a shaman on the same team, that's more than enough cause to lose, ESPECIALLY to double melee, yet we had no issues against these guys. Mind you, this concept of just sitting the tank and absorbing his kit like a meat shield works against ALL tanks. git gud
Hey Visions! I've mained Brewmaster in PvP for about 5 years now, I'm near 2000 in 3s and around 1800 in rated BG's as a Brewmaster. A lot of groups respond negatively to me being a Brewmaster, and I agree with everything you said in the video. Brewmasters deserve to be buffed, they're an extremely fun spec, and if timed right, their situational DPS and heals can be very helpful.
You don't need to be buffed to be viable, you need things nerfed, which is exactly the issue of WoW atm, where thinks are overtuned as all fucking hell that Brewmaster is essentially useless in PVP.
Eh, I enjoyed S1 & 2, but it's gotten progressively worse to the point that I barely play wow. Barely got enough wins S3-5 for my glad mounts, only just now coming back to compete in tournaments again where I actually hope to show people that brewmaster is a thing. Sadly Cdew gets the credit for it even though they don't understand the spec and that Reqy & myself are the original brewmasters. It's depressing, but it's whatever.
You're right, we don't have issues with a class or spec, we have issues making them viable in a meta that makes it impossible for a utility spec to be viable in.
After watching your video, I've finally convinced my partners to try it out. Drunken Thunder Cleave. I'll let you know how it goes. What have you qued?
I just spent the last week leveling up a Brewmaster after seeing this video. I'm still working on getting to hot trub but so far I am having a ton of fun in PvP, it's so different from any other class, I love it. Thanks for making this video
Yeah, it's definently different than any other spec in the game atm, it's really just a MOP WW without the self sustaining defensives with the amount of utility, lot of fun imo.
I agree that they're underrated, but they're also not at all useful in PVP. Sure they bring the utility that they have, but you could just replace them with any meta spec and have a comp that is 10x better. It's a sad concept. Thankfully I play with people who just want to have fun and we get to screw around with specs like these.
I honestly believe it's a bug. Keg Smash is supposed to reduce the CD on all brews, but only does so for the two brews, it doesn't affect fortifying brew in PVP for some reason. I know it does in PVE. I have no actual answer for this.
Visions that’s messed up it’s bugged, if it wasn’t then fort brew would be good to use. Good guide tho. I love brewmaster and just couldn’t find the right way to play it.
I disagree, even if it wasn't bugged, the massive CD on it still makes it pretty bad. Compared to how fort brew used to be in MOP/WOD, where it increased max health + current health by 20%, it now only increases max health by 20% makingit pretty neglible. And thanks, still working on the part 2 to show it in PVP.
That's your opinion, I personally have always enjoyed Brewmaster. But, since the changes to Stagger and how Brewmaster damage in PVP is reliant around eating up a lot of stagger from partners, then dropping it all in a stacked fiesta, it is relatively boring.
Of course this is my opinion! Why do people write such things like IMHO ?! Never mind. And when changed staggering? At me in PVP it did not collect any damage and to me roughly speaking there was nothing to clear. (I'm leave brewmaster in February) I just died slowly
I'm at a loss for what you're trying to say at all, but we'll see if I am getting a general understanding; Brewmaster Stagger was changed in PVP to be a burst idea, you run Guard and soak ally damage for 15 seconds and then brew it off with the Talent Hot Trub for burst AOE damage.
Nice dude, i just started playing wow , im a lvl 40 ww monk but i take so much damage. for me even a 1 v 1 is a struggle , any tips as my damage sucks atm?
Trinket, Adaptation & Relentless as needed. Admonishment with another DPS, otherwise use Relentless Assault if you know you're going to be trained. Fast Feet/Eminence as needed, usually Eminence against double caster. Hot Trub Guard Double Barrel until Incendiary Breath is fixed.
