The Retro Movie Talk Show is the place to come to find out about all those videos you used to see in the 80's & 90's that were in the horror and sci fi section of your local video store.
Alot of the Town in the other Christmas Carols such as Reginald Owen, Alastair Sim, Albert Finney, Micheal Caine, Patrick Stewart, and Kelsey Grammer all seems like they are in a set, the buildings in those looks fake, while George C Scott versions looks real because they are. I think alot of people ignores that details
Hello Nick, because this my favorite movie I searched and found out it was filmed in Shrewsbury. From Holland to Shrewsbury is quite a trip, but combined it with Oxford and travelled with my brother. Did this a few years ago. We did the guided Christmas Carol tour. It was wonderfull. We also saw the steps across the Office (where Tiny Tim waited for his father) and the building where Fezziwig has his party. Thank you for sharing this video!
This has allways been my favourite Christmas-movie. I watch it every Christmas morning. It has been a tradition for the past 3 decades. It’s been fantastic to see the locations in Shrewsbury where it was filmed. Thank you very much for showing it.
You are dead right this was the best version ever..This video was a joy to watch, thankyou so much..We LOVE Shrewsbury and we have done the tour, would have loved to have done it in 2020 but couldnt for obvious reasons...You have made this a total joy...
Good Lord Nick there's a blast from the past! I will always remember the casting guys coming to our school to look for extras. I was told I was too fat and pushed out of line! The young lad getting the turkey was Ian and the girl dancing in the Cratchett house was called Nancy something.
@@coco_slothSimilarly, I'm only in Telford. The only thing inaccessible at the moment is Ebenezer's headstone, as the gates were locked yesterday and today due to tree work. Enjoy your day and stay safe.
@@LilBlighter Thank you for the heads up. I hope you have a Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year. (Hope we do not go into a second lockdown touch wood.) And you stay safe aswell.
It was either 85 or 86 that i saw this version and has been my favorite ever since. I figured it was done at a studio and didn't realize that these buildings actually exist. interesting fact on the cementery stone... thank you for taking the time to make this video!!
I've just travelled all around the filming locations this week absolutely beautiful.never been around a film set before.to top it off with the best film at Christmas is just priceless.i even ran up to scrooges front door and knocked it.just to say I've been at the same door as ebaynezer scrooges home.
Just seeing this in 2019. Such beautiful scenery in the 1984 "Scrooge" film, great to see it all come alive. What expert casting to put George C. Scott in this role, he will forever be the perfect "Scrooge"!
This video is pure gold, how many memories thank you so mucho for uploading and form making it, happy new year and Merry christmas from far far away!!!
