Security guard committed battery against the photographers multiple times. The legal definition is unwanted contact. He also illegally detained someone. Which is false imprisonment. He also committed assualt and battery. The legal definition is the fear of being harmed. Both would have grounds for a civil claim against the security guard and his employer. I really hoped they contacted a solicitor and put in a claim.
Security guards are often retired, wannabe or failed police. Most of them never get over losing their authority to violate people's rights. I'd always suggest anyone says they're feeling alarmed, scared and threatened. Voice it several times as you're walking away. After several assertions you feel unsafe, punch their lights out.
If I was the photographer being harassed I would’ve had perfect payback for the security guard. Since he was walking backwards and couldn’t see where he was going I would make sure that he backed into the brick pillar.
Security what a joke, I have been a Security guard and you have no more rights than a member of the public they either need retraining or given their p45. Put some people in a uniform and they think they can do whatever they want to.
I'm glad it wasn't some of the guys that I know that he was coming the knob with. If it had have been, he would have needed an ambulance not the Police!
