We are Esther and Andi, a swiss-german couple. We traveled in March 2021 from Germany to Santa Teresa, Costa Rica. Very soon we start our project "How to build a (Green)Dream House in Costa Rica" here on this channel. In this project we will document every single step of how to build a house (in our case it's going to be 2) in one of the most beautiful villages in the world. Santa Teresa.
Check out our Instagram Account @thegreenhouse.cr for more stories about our houses and Santa Teresa or our FB under the same name or write us! info@thegreenhouse.cr or www.thegreenhouse.cr Pura Vida
I stayed in an Airbnb that had the open floor concept where all the bathrooms had the toilets and showers outside but the roof covered it all. In your case it would've been better if the roof extended over the tub
Hi, thanks for the compliment. We appreciate. No we didn't post costs, but on purpose. There are too many factors that have an impact on costs. I don't think that the infos would help a lot. Because our situation is probably very different to others
Yeah sorry, i apologise. We actually wanted to publish it a long time ago, but than we had a funeral and after the funeral tons of other things to finish before we finally made it
Because we don’t push it! We did this videos for us. Because we have this professional skills and we wanted to produce a memory for our future life! But we are glad you like it!!! Still 2 episodes missing. Upload one on Tuesday
I’m enjoying your videos! Love seeing the process. We have a lot in Santa Teresa. Just got our permits approved, but construction costs are so much more expensive than we were anticipating :( not sure if we should try to simplify the design and start over; or wait til we have way more money 😂
Hello! We just found your videos. Love them and thanks so much for documenting this. My wife and I are on a path to do this sort of thing in the next 3 years and are compiling pro and con lists for CR, Panama, and a couple of others but CR is high on our list. Buying land and building is what I prefer, Atenas perhaps. One thing I thought in watching up to episode 4 so far, you could maybe have made the roof of the loft be a deck for the Shrimp house 🤗 you would have a wonderful patio up there maybe with a small bridge to connect between them. Enjoying very much and best wishes from Miami
Beautiful houses. Im living in Colombia, south America. In a small town. I would like to building at home like you. Could I have help from you please. I mean, structure plans. I appreciate so much....
Lol, i love your architect ! Staring to watch the series from the start and like others in the comments would love to have a cost estimate. Thanks for posting, really excited for you guys
Enjoying the video series! Currently finalizing design for build in Guanacaste and was wondering if you could let me know the tile and window company you used? Thanks
Hi Robert, thanks for your commentary. For 2 reasons. Number one is that paperwork is not super interesting to visualise and to explain. Number 2. one important part about the water changed in the past year and the final process is still not defined. So every info about that wouldn’t be correct. That’s why we decided to let it out! If you want more infos, feel free to send me a DM on our insta account @thegreenhouse.cr
Looking great. I`d be nervous carrying that benchtop over the rough terrain once the hole was added (weaker structure), but I guess they`d done that 100s of times
Amazing! Your husband is right about square tiles 😂 I’m Canada, when we install cabinets, we put a skeleton behind one of the cabinets wearing our company shirt and hat for whoever tears them out in the future. Love the videos. Planning our build near Uvita. Keep it coming! ¡Pura Vida Mae!
Thank you for your videos! It's inspiring to see people do what they love to do) I already bought a land in Costa Rica, so your videos are like a textbook for me!)
Be cool to follow this, after spending many lovely days in the Green House! Will you give us an idea of the cost to build a house there, the legal requirements to own a property in CR, and the ROI if renting it out?
