I don't think it's humid enough in my apartment here in northeastern New Jersey because I spray it often and it still sheds on the floor. It's just as well because I hate humidity

A few hundred miles to the north of you in zone 7 we have a broad leaf plantain that grows close to the forest edge and around the base of hard woods not out in the open like yours with a purple underside . It’s a bit sweeter than the long leaf variety. Hope that helps y’all northern foragers.

Yes. Lots! Misha says she prefers to work with it fresh or dried, rather than encapsulated (you'll find a lot of people taking it as capsules, or as part of something else like a powder). She keeps this in our herb shop at Cypress Pillar and works with it regularly. She has harvested it fresh for her clients as well. She has worked with it in food, teas, salves, and oils.

Wow! You have flowering plants at ground level. That's amazing. I did not plant mine in my backyard. I have over 50stalks that are mostly 7-25' tall. Several at 4"-12". I'm guessing it's a medicinal issues I'm to harvest from root, leaves, flowers. Mine are wild prairie species. Illinois growth. I do also have the sun drop smaller plant. Only blooms in spring. The wild version blooms all through late August.

I also went through the yes-no symbols at the bottom,and, divided the blue from the black. Then ,I put a blue dot next to the blue symbols,because I found them hard to distinguish from the black ones.

So cool! Thanks for sharing. :) do you know if its edible?
@CypressPillarHealingArts
@CypressPillarHealingArts Год назад
Yes! It is indeed edible...but it does not taste very good. Sometimes people use it to make jams, jellies, and even wine. I suspect it's better taste wise if you add a bit of sugar to it.

I'm in Sacramento zone 9B. I planted both the Caribbean and central American pink trumpet(handroanthus impetiginosus) trees last November. The Caribbean tree( Handroanthus heptaphyllus) was already 7ft tall when I planted it and the central American was a 1.5ft tall little sapling. I winter protected both and thought it was doing well until January but the Caribbean try didn't survive winter as it got root rot. The soil is very heavy clay and was still wet and very acidic by late April. The central American tree did fine with no die back even though it's in a shadier area. Our last winter was really long, wet and cold with like 50+ nights of frost. I planted another central American tabebuia where the other one died and it's so far outgrowing the other one. Fingers crossed that they can establish well enough to handle winters. I think the central American tabebuia has more cold hardiness than the Caribbean tree.

@CypressPillarHealingArts Год назад
We hope that your tree babies survive! It would make sense if the Central American was, just by going via the zones. The climate change is definitely affecting them though. We lost a very old one on the east coast of FL at my mom's this year - it was over 20 years old but they'd had tons of rain and very unusual temp fluctuations and most likely got root rot too.

Please excuse the delay in replying. Check Etsy - there are some really lovely small reputable sellers on there. I believe the one we purchased from is no longer selling, but Misha has found several sellers there who do have it.
