I went there twice when I lived in Florida in 1990-1991 and it was so amazing, beautiful and fun. The people there were so kind, friendly, generous and fun! I remember the bar/restaurant kept playing “I shot the sheriff “ on repeat which was hysterical to us. I fell in love with the people there and I hope they’re all doing well.
My heart hurts right now. I was 9 then and I'm 40 now with 3 kids. 2 boys 9 and 11 and a lil girl aged 7.... same age as Stephanie. 😢 I grew up at 254 Elm st. In town. I went to St. Matthews school in N-park not pview so Stephanie wasn't a class mate but I would ride my bike all over town and always saw her and another boy hanging out most days. I don't remember the boys name. Anyway this beautiful young girl with her whole life ahead of her taken by pure evil through sick and twisted desires of a monster. I can't believe he is up for parole next year... I pray he remains where he can't hurt another innocent child again. This definitely shaped my life. I was 9 when it happened... I still remember that years Halloween. Strict curfews and parents being paranoid and we all had to travel in larger groups. I moved out of town at 18 and now have a house 20 minutes away with my kids. Stephanie Monn's loss affects me to this day. I have major trust issues and can be a bit protective of my kids and their safety. Things are much different nowadays then it was in the 90s... We all stayed out until the street lights came on maybe later but now kids can't do the same it's just not safe. Stephanie was on my mind today bc my daughter got upset and asked me why she couldn't go to the lake around the corner alone. I explained it's not safe and she's too young and going alone was never wise at any age. All 3 of my kids called me a helicopter parent so I told them about Stephanie and what happened (kid friendly version if there is one 😢). They called me a liar and I went looking for proof on Google and found this beautifully done video. I didn't find it before they went to bed but will show them in the morning. Thanks for bringing light and healing remembrance with a thorough video OP. Sorry for such a long comment but I genuinely had a heartbreaking moment looking at Stephanie's pure innocence and what that monster did to her. It made me cry for her and her family and then I started to cry thinking what if something like this happened to us. So sad and I wish life wasn't like this for anyone. I pray often as I'm a faithful practicing Christian and I find myself praying for Stephanie and her family and anyone else affected by this tragedy or any tragedy.may the Lord keep her and all of you. John 16:22 “So with you: Now is your time of grief, but I will see you again and you will rejoice, and no one will take away your joy.” Rest in Peace in his glory, sweet angel... gone too soon but never forgotten. -JT❤
Thank you so much for leaving this comment. I always wondered how many other people thought about Stephanie like I did. I always remembered this tragedy and have also always been a "helicopter parent" as well. I would look up her story for years and never saw anything about her which is why I decided to make this video. I'm no expert at making videos but it's the least I could do. Hello, My mother was Tim’s Ex wife and his two kids are my older brother and sister. I can’t believe how unbelievably strong my mother is having gone through everything and still living her life and remarrying to my father who is also named Tim. It breaks my heart every time I think about what my siblings had to go through and what my mother had to tell them, my brother was only 2 and my sister was 4. My mother told me that Stephanie used to come and play with my siblings a lot. I cant even think about how my mother felt when she brought him into questioning (since she was a police officer) now I understand why she has always been so protective of me and my other siblings. I pray that in 2025 if he makes it out of prison he will stay away from my family and never be heard from again.

Thank you for this. My mom's work friend Beth lived on the corner across from the park. When we would visit her son Curtis and I used to play with Stephanie all time and swim in his pool. I remember my mom coming home and telling me what happened. Nothing was ever the same after that.

You said if you go to other places in Jamaica you won’t get this scenery. You don’t know that and that’s not true at all. Jamaica is an island so everywhere on the island would have a good view. You just have to get creative with it sometimes.

On the bed upstairs is a body heater. You would keep that frying pan looking thing next to the fireplace on a cold night then place it in between your sheets for a few minutes before going to bed . Nice and warm and cozy.
Swamp land not clearly in the right mental state a lot given her mental condition , she obviously taken by a predatory animal. Her family is thick as rocks considering mental illness is in their genes, shown by their attempting to accuse anonymous strangers with their own paranoid delusional when it's obvious to others that this was a case of nature being nature and not some murder.

If you ever get up to Clearwater nearby,check out the new Coachman Park in downtown Clearwater,that recently underwent an 84 million dolkar renovation including a huge amphitheater,parking is free and you can always take the adjacent Jolly Trolley Bus to the beach.The park is a nice sorely needed addition for the downtown area.
